I’m fascinated by the things that make us stop, look closer, feel something, remember something.

A photograph. A scent. A place. A story.

I’ve been strolling differently lately.

This stop at @lalique felt particularly special. The Maison was once the home of #DianaRoss. Knowing that one of my favs, @traceeellisross once roamed these floors made me experience the space differently.

I’m increasingly drawn to residential-style spaces/townhouses where history, hospitality and commerce live together.

Similarly to the Parlor byMUSE, these spaces invite you in, encourage you to linger, and tell a story before anyone says a word.

As we approach ten years in 2027, these field trips are helping me think more deeply about the kind of experiences we’ve created at The Parlor and what the future can look like.

Not simply a place to discover fragrance.

A place with a soul. A place you remember long after you leave.

Sitting in the original MUSE location, 327 Convent Ave, I wrote: “Musing in the Perfume Parlor by MUSE.”

Funny how sometimes you name the vision before you fully understand what you’re building.

Even then, MUSE was never meant to simply be a place to buy fragrance. It was a place to sit, discover, linger, talk, connect and experience scent differently.

Nine years later, The Parlor by MUSE feels less like a new idea and more like an evolution… an ongoing expression of a 2017 vision but with greater clarity, intention and experience behind it.

You don’t have to be a fragrance person to enjoy The Parlor by MUSE. Sometimes you’re just the husband coming along for the ride—supporting your wife, hanging out, laughing, and becoming part of the experience too.
