Heavy rain is falling across the city this afternoon, and the forecast holds through the weekend. If you can, stay in. Put the kettle on, light a candle, and let the day be slow.
If you do head out, take an umbrella, and give yourself extra time on the roads.
And for your bag, should it catch the rain:
Blot, don’t rub. Press gently with a soft, dry cloth.
Let it dry naturally at room temperature, away from hairdryers, heaters and direct sun.
Fill it loosely with tissue paper so it keeps its shape as it dries.
Once it’s fully dry, a light leather conditioner or suede brush brings back its softness.
Store it in its dust bag, never in plastic, which traps moisture.
Leather that’s cared for only gets better with time. Stay dry, stay well. 🤎🥹
