✨ DAY 2 MELBOURNE DLC 2026 ✨

Day 2 was absolutely jam packed full of fun and excitement.

I started the day watching my @edtaylornz in his Top 32 (!!) match against Thiago. Unfortunately got he knocked out by a ruff 🐶 Nani top deck into GoGo for the win, but I am super proud of him nonetheless.

Then I finally got to jam some infinity again and play my beloved SteelSong, unfortunately my deck didn’t get the memo and I missed both a one and two drop 💀 and subsequently lost my first game since it was BO1. (Shoutout to @justjakeau for the photo). Regardless I still had a great time and went 3-3 overall.

Super VIP gave us the chance to play pack rush with Naomi Kim from Ravensburger on the stunning foil playmats and we got a lil sneak peek at the new Toy Story foil playmat 😍

Meanwhile Super VIP First Chapter Sealed was taking place and I delegated deck building to @edtaylornz and got a very happy surprise in my first game with Enchanted Simba making a surprise entrance 😍

I met the talented @mattchapmandraws again and got my playset of foil Fire the Cannons signed. (Just in time to take down some dogs 😤)

I then came back to find Ethan playing pack rush with Naomi after he pulled iCONIC MOANA?!?! and lost my mind.

We were stoked to trade some other cards into an Iconic Ariel with @thecardhubaustralia and may have fallen into the trap of trying to collect all the iconics now 🙈

Between the two of us we got a few (a lot) of prize tickets and managed to redeem into a lot of goodies.

Ended the day by getting to meet the awesome @jdzquest and having a yarn and got a Giant Tink signed by him.

A massive massive thanks to @takgamesau @modernbrandstoys @ravensburgeranz for putting on yet another amazing and magical event. Absolutely cannot wait for the next DLC in our region. In the meantime, DLC Taipei will have to do 😜

✨ DAY 1 MELBOURNE DLC 2026 ✨

(Game summaries in comments)

I was quite nervous going into the weekend and unsure how things were going to turn out. With Winterspell pre-release being just one week prior, it was a mad scramble to find new cards and figure out how best to slot them into my existing deck.

💜🩶 has been my go to since rotation, so I decided to stick to my tried and true, instead of trying to learn a new deck in a week or two. With the meta being new and relatively unknown, I was hoping that there would be a decent proportion of aggro decks that I would be able to control and stabilise in time.

My confidence took a bit of a hit the day before, when we were testing in our hotel lobby and I found myself surrounded by Blurple decks, many of which were being piloted by well known pro players. However, I didn’t want to change my deck too much at the last minute and give up percentage points into my aggro match ups so I stuck to my guns and crossed my fingers that I didn’t get paired into Blurple all day.

Fortunately Lady Luck was on my side, and I managed to avoid most of the Blurple in the room. I managed to stay live for Day 2 until R8 where I got high rolled by 💛🩶 OTD and unfortunately there was nothing to be done.

Regardless, I was stoked to go 6-3 overall and earn my Foil Simba. Although I didn’t quite crack Top 64 this time, I got suuuper close. I got the same result and was less than 1% off in OMW breakers. Overall, I was stoked with performance and my improvement compared to both Melbourne DLC 2025 and Auckland DLCq, and I can’t wait to keep practicing and improving.

Next stop DLC Taipei 🫡

✨ AUCKLAND DLC QUALIFIER RECAP ✨

I had an absolute blast at the Auckland Disney Lorcana Challenge Qualifier. This event was the first of its kind and we weren’t quite sure what to expect. However what started out as an event filled with uncertainty, quickly turned into one the best experiences I’ve had playing Lorcana so far.

Even though the main event did not go quite as well as I wanted, I’m proud of my run, and am glad I stuck with Amethyst Steel despite Blurple being OP af. I was absolutely stoked to be able to play Steel Song again and cannot wait to play more during Infinity Weekend next month.

I’m so unbelievably proud of my other half @edtaylornz for his stellar performance, getting all the way to Top 4 after finishing 1st seed after a 7-0-1 Day 1 record.

A massive thank you to @ravensburgeranz @modernbrandstoys @takgamesau for putting this event together and for giving little old New Zealand the opportunity to have an event like this and get access to some of the absolutely stunning (!!!) promo cards and playmats. I’m going to treasure that Mulan playmat forever 💗

This weekend was also a great chance to reconnect with other players from across New Zealand and Australia and we also made even more new friends! (I’ll remember to take some photos next time 😭)

Bring on Melbourne DLC in February 💪🏼

✨ DAY 2 AUCKLAND DLC QUALIFIER ✨

Day 2 was meant to be a day full of grinding side events for prize wall tickets to get that coveted Mulan playmat, but I wasn’t going to miss an opportunity to finally play Steel Song first, after it had been so rudely ripped away with rotation.

Having not played Steel Song since Set 8, I was unsure if I should stray from my trusty Rhino and Robin Hood shift lines, or try something new. Of note, I wanted to see how I could get Aurora Holding Court into my deck, because how good does a Turn 2 Ariel feel? I was also intrigued by The Queen Conceited Ruler, but in order to make this work I would have to completely cut one or both existing shift lines. In the end I decided to take a risk, and go with Princesses/Queens, as this was actually how I ended up playing Amber Steel in the first place! I bid my Rhinos and Robin Hoods goodbye and brought back The Queen Regal Monarch (1c) and Commanding Presence (5c).

R1 started out awkward as I altered 5 cards and drew 2x AWNW, 1x GYS, 2x Zeus 💀. But things turned around after the first game, and Steel Song started to do its thing, allowing me to neutralise threats (sorry Mushu 😭😭) and control the board efficiently. I then found myself facing off against 2 Blue Steel item decks, fortunately a few well timed AWNWs prevented them from overwhelming me with items and getting off that deadly Tamatoa Dime Combo.

(Cont. in comments again due to my inability to be a concise girly oops)

✨ DAY 1 AUCKLAND DLC QUALIFIER ✨

Day 1️⃣ Main Event on 💜🩶 - 74th out of 154 (4-4-0)

R1 💙💛 2-0 OTD

R5 💜💙 1-2 OTP
R6 💜🩶 1-2 OTP

R8 💜💙 0-2 OTD

I had a decent start to the day going 2-0 for the first two rounds, but R3 was a tough mirror with no Docs for me in G3. I learned a valuable lesson with things going to time, that sometimes it’s ok not to play to win, but to play for the draw. I got absolutely rinsed in G1 of R4 with Amber Steel doing Amber Steel things and the game was over in about 4 turns, but knowing the match up after G1 allowed me to alter for Calhoun and Skater Mim who really helped me to turn things around. As expected, Blurple was a hard match up especially when they hit those Second Stars 🫠. I faced another mirror in R6, but unfortunately my deck was all or nothing in terms of 1 drops or 5 drops, and I found myself having to navigate tricky hands and was unable to do enough to get over the line. 2 more Blurple matchups was a rough way to finish the day, but I was stoked to get the win in R7. R8 was a rough one and I wasn’t able to get a win in the round, but the tempo swing when they hit the Second Stars was just too hard to overcome.

Overall I went 4-4 and ended up 74th out of 154. I unfortunately bubbled out of Top 64 and the Simba promo due to my breakers and was absolutely gutted to realise that an ID in Round 8 would have actually locked Top 64, but sitting at 64th at the end of Round 7 made it hard to call and bracket maths has never been my forte. Not knowing what the match up was, I had to back myself to win, but Blurple said not today 🫩

Cont. in comments because apparently this has just become a diary entry

✨ FABLED SET CHAMPIONSHIPS ✨

Stoked to finally earn the mat. Turns out 5th time is the charm 💁🏻‍♀️

After losing the only deck I knew and loved (SteelSong) to rotation 😭😭😭, I struggled to find my new identity. Ruby Steel songs were a major bust and Amber Steel just didn’t hit the same. I ended up giving Amethyst Steel a whirl and found something new to love 💜🩶

Had my most consistent season yet with 5 out of 5 Top 4s including one 2nd place (rip runner up mat) before finally taking it out on the last set champs I was able to attend 😮‍💨
