Celebrating 25 years of BIES at Marquette! 💙💛

Marquette’s Bilingual English Spanish specialization has helped prepare future speech language pathologists to work with English and Spanish speaking individuals and families.
BIES started in 2001 because there was a growing need for speech language services for Spanish speaking communities in Milwaukee and beyond. At the time, no other graduate level programs in the Midwest offered this type of bilingual SLP training!
BIES students can learn and build their Spanish medical and educational vocabulary and gain hands on experience working with Spanish speaking children and adults.
It’s amazing to see how much the program has grown and the impact it has had on students, families, and the community over the past 25 years.
