Here we go (again) 😩

Seeing plague in the headlines this week? Yeah, me too.

It’s just one more reason I’m glad we have emergency meds at home. Our Jase Case means we already have antibiotics if we can’t get to a doctor or pharmacy fast. One less thing to worry about.

Upgrade your emergency medication kit, comment ✨MEDS✨ for the kit I trust.

I paid full price for most of these. Don’t be me. 🙃

Prime Day is when I try to fill the gaps in our emergency kits. These are the prep finds I actually use at home and in the car. No bunker, just practical stuff that makes a power outage or breakdown less stressful.

🔦 Headlamp: lives in the nightstand, so I’m not digging through a junk drawer in the dark.

🔋 Power bank: also our road-trip and sports-sideline charger, so it earns its spot all year.

🌡️ Fridge alarm: I check it after every storm, even when the power only blinks.

📻 Hand-crank radio: the kids think cranking it is fun, so they actually know how to use it.

🚗 Car kit: lives in one bin in the trunk. I check it every time the seasons change.

Make it fun, make it a game

And yes — writing important phone numbers down for this very reason IS important, but what about our kids? The important phone numbers matter, and they should be imprinted into their tiny minds.

Storing phone numbers in our cellphones has made it convenient, but has robbed us of the mental rolodex.

Make preparedness, and the important info, part of your child’s routine.

You mean they grow up? 😩🥺

Teach your kids confidence through preparedness skills. I know the idea of them becoming self-sufficient and independent too soon makes my mama heart ache, but it’s the best way we can prepare them for real-world scenarios.

What are your favorite games or chores you use to teach your kiddos?

My bottomless bag 😆

These are my prepped on-the-go staples! I’m absolutely loving these clear zipper boxes. Staying organized, especially when I’m changing bags and backpacks often, is a MUST.

Comment ✨PACK✨ for some of my essentials.

Cash is KING

Card readers go down. ATMs stop working. Cash doesn’t.

Keep a small stash of $1s, $5s, $10s and $20s tucked somewhere safe, especially in your car. Gas, food, tolls, or an unexpected outage can quickly turn “I’ll just use my card” into a problem.

Small prep. Big peace of mind.

Keep it simple 👇🏼

The first 5 minutes of a power outage shouldn’t be spent figuring out what to do.

You don’t need a complicated emergency plan, just a basic one: grab your lights, check the breaker, unplug sensitive electronics, keep the fridge/freezer closed, charge essential devices, and figure out whether the outage is isolated or widespread.

A little planning now = a lot less scrambling in the dark later. Save this and make it a plan BEFORE your next outage.

Help for your kids, even when you can’t help them yourself.

That’s what the Roth ID Tag means to me. It’s on my daughter’s booster seat, holding her name, allergies and emergency contacts. If something ever happens and I can’t speak for her, it pulls off and works as an ID wristband, so first responders know instantly who she is and who to call.

Comment ✨TAG✨ and I’ll send it over so you’re prepared too.

Some safety gear is for the drive. This one’s for the unthinkable.

Your windshield wipers might be cooked from summer and you won’t know until it rains.

Summer heat can dry out and crack your wiper blades, causing streaking and poor visibility when fall and winter weather hits. DON’T LET THIS BE YOU.

Your fall car maintenance reminder: check your windshield wipers NOW and replace them if they’re cracked, dry, streaking or skipping.

It’s a $20ish prep that can make a huge difference on the road. Easy win.

Preparedness isn’t always a stockpile. Sometimes it’s just good maintenance.

Save, and share this with a driver that needs the reminder ↗️ by @muthaprepper

Keep the kids prepared 🎒

Back-to-school isn’t just about pencils and notebooks, it’s also a great time to think about practical preparedness.

Two simple items I recommend adding to every child’s backpack:

• A whistle to help them get attention in an emergency.
• A small first aid kit for minor cuts, scrapes, and blisters until an adult can help.

These lightweight additions take up almost no space, but they can make a big difference when the unexpected happens. Preparedness isn’t about fear, it’s about giving our kids simple tools that help them stay safer and more confident.
