☘️ BAND OF THE WEEK ☘️

Mutilation Barbecue

This week we’re putting the spotlight on @mutilationbarbecue out of Cleveland, Ohio.

With roots in Subtype Zero, Mutilation Barbecue brings together guttural vocals, grinding riffs and thick grooves. Their self-titled debut arrived in 2021, followed by “Abortion Ambulance” in 2022.

Their debut full-length, AMALGAMATIONS OF GORE, dropped through @maggotstomp in March 2024, featuring nine tracks including “Auto Anthropophagy,” “Hive Mind Homicide” and “Trampled Under 18 Wheels.”

They followed that with FLESH REGENERATED in April 2026, introducing vocalist Tristan Wright on record. The four-track EP includes “Flesh Regenerated,” “Grave Implosion,” “Decorticate Congregation” and “Realm of the Ossified.”

They’ve also continued taking their music on the road, including the 2026 Long Roads Big Loads tour alongside Archspire, Undeath and Crown Magnetar.

MUTILATION BARBECUE:

Tristan Wright — Vocals
Dylan Andras — Guitar
Nick McGroder — Guitar
Larry Johnson — Bass
Harrison Good — Drums

If you haven’t spent much time with Mutilation Barbecue yet, this is the week to get familiar.

🔥 Catch MUTILATION BARBECUE live at Shamrock Slaughter Fest 2027 — March 19–20 at The Forge / Icon Lounge in Joliet, Illinois.

JUST A FEW DAYS AWAY FROM IOWA METAL UNDERGROUND FEST! This Saturday August 14th and 15th in Cedar Rapids.

Coming straight out of Cleveland, Ohio is our headliner, Mutilation Barbecue. Forming in 2021, Mutilation Barbecue quickly made themselves known nationally with the release of their self-titled EP, later to be reissued on Maggot Stomp. After 3 years of grinding, the band released their 2024 debut LP, “Amalgamations of Gore”. Following that release, they further showed what they were made of, with a year full of touring with heavyweights such as Soulfly, Eyehategod, Crowbar, Sanguisugabogg and more.

Early 2025, Mutilation Barbecue announced a new era for the band, along with a new vocalist and a new tone. In April of this year, they gave us a taste of this new sound with the release of their EP entitled “Flesh Regenerated”.

With a hybrid approach to death metal, Mutilation Barbecue combines old-school riffage and an emphasis on lead guitar with a high energy stage presence that leaves the audience thirsting for more. Fresh off a two month stint on the road with Undeath, Crown Magnetar, and Archspire, they’re dialed in to close out Iowa Metal Underground Fest in the most memorable fashion.

Tickets are still available at cspshall.org/imu-fest. Call their box office for the 2 day-pass deal.

ONE MONTH AWAY from IOWA METAL UNDERGROUND FEST 2026 at CSPS Hall in Cedar Rapids!

August 14th and 15th we have two days filled with some of the best death and thrash metal bands from around the country and a bunch of sick local Iowa bands as well!

Tickets are still available at cspshall.org/imu-fest but I wouldn’t wait too much longer to grab yours, especially the limited 2 day passes and the August 14th tickets because the downstairs venue is limited to only 125 tickets and they might be gone by day of show.

Here is some videos from the 2025 fest to hold you over until August 14th and 15th, 2026
