The second time around, I never knew my heart could stretch this wide again never imagined I could love another soul as deeply as I love your older sister.
And then you came… right on time, like something my heart had been quietly waiting for. In your tiny cuddles, I found a love so pure, so gentle, it felt like home all over again.
Baby love, you are the love I didn’t know I needed, the piece of my heart I didn’t know was missing.
Thank you for choosing me to be your mom

That moment it hits you… this is the last time I’ll hold my newborn like this. Soaking in every tiny sigh, every sleepy cuddle, every little detail I never want to forget. Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to cover it 🤍 by @muvamunch

Babies feel safest sleeping on their mom because of a mix of biology, sensory comfort, and emotional bonding—it’s basically what their brains are wired for from birth.
1. Familiar heartbeat and breathing
While in the womb, babies constantly hear and feel their mother’s heartbeat and breathing rhythms. After birth, being close to mom recreates those same patterns, which calms their nervous system.
2. Smell and voice recognition
Newborns can recognize their mother’s smell and voice almost immediately. These familiar cues signal “you’re safe,” helping them relax and fall asleep more easily.
3. Warmth and touch
Skin-to-skin contact provides warmth and steady physical pressure, which helps regulate a baby’s body temperature, heart rate, and stress levels. This physical closeness reduces crying and promotes deeper sleep.
4. The attachment instinct
From an evolutionary standpoint, staying close to a caregiver increases survival. Babies are biologically programmed to seek closeness, and being held by mom fulfills that instinct.
5. Hormonal calming effects
Close contact releases calming hormones like oxytocin in both the baby and the mother. This lowers stress and promotes a sense of security.
