Please welcome to our community Rob Baumgartner!

Rob Baumgartner, Jr. is a DC native and New York-based composer/lyricist and musical director. His original musicals include: The Jungle (Johnny Mercer Writers Colony, Roundabout Space Jam, Good Company Theatre), Adam Lives (Goodspeed Festival of New Musicals, Johnny Mercer Writers Colony, Baldwin Wallace First Takes, New York Theatre Barn, NAMT, Cap21), Date of a Lifetime (Abingdon Theatre, NYMF, New Jersey Rep) Alone World (Lincoln Center Directors Lab, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, West Village Musical Theatre Festival-winner of Best Score), What the Moon Saw (Cap21), Under Construction (NYU), The Hole (St. Clements ’09), Radiant Ruby (Vital Theatre Company ’05) and Lullabies. Rob has served as an assistant to composers Galt MacDermot, Debra Barsha, Rob Reale. Rob was lucky enough to assist Mr. MacDermot on the 2009 Broadway revival of his musical Hair. Rob is a graduate of the Musical Theatre Writing MFA program at Tisch School of the Arts. Rob has been a proud faculty member at Wesleyan University, Cap21/Molloy College, New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, Harlem School for the Arts, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. by @mvillemt

We are excited and proud to announce that Mville MT alum Álvaro Medina Molina (‘23) will be part of the 50th season at the GALA Hispanic Theatre in Washington D.C.! He is in the Ensemble and understudying Alberto in Aguardiente: A New Musical, a bilingual musical with surtitles in English and Spanish, running April 30-May 24. You can catch Álvaro as Alberto May 9th & May 16th. by @mvillemt

One final post, for their final voyage…

I have already expressed how much this show impacted me, and I can’t wait to continue to yap about it anytime someone brings up a boat! 🚢

It’s always a good sign to walk out from a show and sing its songs for the next week or so, so just know that I’ve been humming this non-stop while editing everything! One final, BRAVO!!!

@mvillemt My friends, this show was an absolute pleasure to photograph.

I love this art form so much, and to be able to know a large number of the people involved in this production, whether close or less acquainted or somewhere in between, is a true pleasure. I feel delighted in knowing that I’ve surrounded myself with artists capable of creating such moving work.

Whether you’re alone on stage or all called to, yet another, cleaning rehearsal, remember that your work and skills, solo and collective, matter, and you can shift this crumbling world further towards one saturated with empathy and open-mindedness through one of art’s most important elements: the audience’s journey through the story.
