Turtle Dove
Marker on 100% cotton paper
Drawing dimension is 12”x18”

Many of you have noticed I have been creating quite a few of these doodles over the last few months. When I create art I have to listen to music or books or tv/movies so I can concentrate on creating. I have been listening again to an audiobook called Space Between by one of my favorite actors/authors (I just got their new book today, “Olivette is You” by @nicotortorella and I cannot wait to read it to my granddaughter.

As I started to work on this doodle, it started to turn into a turtle dove - so I went with it. Tortorella means turtle dove in Italian.

I love where the mind can take you if you let it go…

Some last thoughts about the total eclipse.

I could not believe how cool the temperature got for those few minutes. I was amazed at how quickly it got dark as it approached the total eclipse. For about four minutes before it, the spectrum of white light shifted to a dominant blue spectrum. As an artist who deals with color, it was so beautiful. And of course the total eclipse of the sun was AWESOME!

I am truly grateful that so many Americans across the country were able tho see this spectacular event. Didn’t matter who we were, where we came from, our religious or social beliefs, we all witnessed the awesome power of creation/nature in our lifetime. I still cannot believe that I just happened to live in that path. It is interesting to me that as a spouse, father, artist and teacher, I have always understood that it is the darkness that shows us the glory of the light.

Dragon Eyes and a Human Eye
Fine silver cloisonné enamel on copper
3” diameter, domed

Most artists have unfinished pieces of art. I have a ton of them. I created these enamels over 25 years ago on a project that I abandoned. Loved these, but have never figured out what to do with them. DM me if you have any ideas!

The Crucifixion
Oil on canvas, 24k gold leaf
2’x4’

Christians around the world are observing today as Good Friday. This canvas shows the moment he died and the power of God left the human body. All of the images you may find are part of the story of Holy Week. A special thank you to @actortrubmfg for being the perfect model for this painting.
