I’ve thanked God so much that he made this girl my friend. Shes walked life by me for most of my adult life and has been so encouraging…but won’t be afraid to correct me. She keeps it real but will ride at dawn if I need her. She protects my name in rooms I’m not in. She Remembers the little details which make me feel like I’m her only friend but she does this with everyone she loves! She never misses a beat when it comes to asking how I am, and letting me turtle away or push me to talk. She remembers to always take a picture- even if we just had a conversation where we were crying! She’s not afraid of the mess and is always ready to cheer! She loves my babies like she loves me! So here is to the Instagram photo and the reality one… after the first day of school and a new soccer season…at a new field… where God knew I just needed an hour with her. Seven years.

It’s hard to believe it’s been seven years since his last breath. I sit in awe in how much I’ve grown in these years. How much he’s missed. What we’ve experienced without him.

I often wonder what he’d think of the life I’m living now. I know he’d be proud. Not because I’ve done everything right or well but because I’ve kept going and learned to trust God through the hard seasons, and to spread my wings even when I was afraid. Learning how to live without that fear that has been a great blessing!

Life hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve learned to fly in ways I never imagined. I just wish he could see it.

Until we meet again, Dad. I love you, I miss you, and I know I’m making you proud. ❤️
