A second full polish and detail last weekend. I still can't believe I managed to repaint and blend in a wing with spray cans! Also fixed the cut in the Driver's seat with leather repair kit and leather dye and filler. That was also a massive pain in the butt but it's a bit better..The lesson... Research, research, research, spotless cleaning and preparation... And patience...

What a faff... But phase 3 of rust /floor pan underside of the '5 is almost Complete.. apart from the pros tackling the left front inner wing with a touch of extra welding. #caprotechrx5 and #caprotechRX10 used for longer term protection... 3 days of grinding, scraping, and more scraping to remove rust. Removing 22 years of previous owners neglect...ready for Fertan isolator and RX5 rust converter...a few bits to be sorted by the welder...Then new protection coat of underseal...

New Bike time!!! 20 year old tech was showing its age...The difference?!!!
- 65 degree head angle compared to 70 degree. - less over the handlebar faceplanting.
- steeper seat angle...stable climbing weight in the middle
- 780mm wide bars and a 50mm stem compared to 650mm bars and a 100mm stem...more control
- 2.4" tyres compared to 1.9/2.0 stability
29" wheels compared to 26"...more roll over...new bikes are...we'll just less dangerous on super rocky technical terrain
- dropper post...genius
140mm travel fork compared to 100mm
The On-One was a fantastic bike but it was time for an update...riding has changed...so has the tech
