Maximum Wrestling Rohe Weihnacht ‘24 recap (December 14th 2024)Main Event Match:Toni Harting VS Martyrium VS Nikita Charisma VS Michael Schenkenberg for the Maximum Northern ChampionshipSeeing Toni Harting as champion is good. Seeing Toni Harting as champion feels right.To be honest, Toni's titlematch was the main reason I made the trip to Kiel in the first place. Having the tiger as the face of your promotion is a sign for success.This fatal 4-way match proved to be a spicy one.One of Toni's opponents was Michael Schenkenberg, fellow Muskelkater and former tag team partner of the champ. But...IT GOT EVEN SPICIER! Also in the match was Nikita Charisma, who also tagged with Michael Schenkenberg. Drama is guaranteed with this setup. The wild card in this match was the final competitor: Martyrium. With his more reckless and hardcore kind of style he added an amount of unpredictability that turned this whole match into a glorious chaotic mess.Alliances were thrown out as quickly as they were formed. Old tag team partners reunited. A lot of meat was thrown around and beaten up. Chaos all around.Schenkenberg is an absolute powerhouse, picking up multiple opponents, lifting them up and throwing them around.Nikita Charisma is quick as heck striking everyone with brutal force.Martyrium is an absolute madman pulling off crazy moves and taking crazy bumps.And Toni? Maximum Wrestling Rohe Weihnacht ‘24 recap (December 14th 2024)Match no.5:Steven Jung VS Kevin HartmannA test of strength for 'The Rookie' against a dominant force of muscle.I've never seen either of these guys in the ring before but Hartmann seems like the guy who dominates his opponent, even by streching the rule set to it's limits. He's cocky and buff as f**k and knows how to back up his trashtalking by hitting hard.Steven 'The Rookie' Jung is somewhat of the complete opposite of Hartmann. He's a young dude full of life and energy, with balls of steel and the desire to make it big. He's the perfect underdog character and in a match against a muscle guy like Kevin Hartmann. Fighting an uphill battle but never giving up. THAT gets the crowd on your side. Maximum Wrestling Rohe Weihnacht ‘24 recap (December 14th 2024)Match no.4:Bobby & Banger VS Die Draufgänger for the Maximum Tag Team ChampionshipsI have not seen Bobby Gunns and Tempesta as a team before. Well, to be honest I hadn't even seen Tempesta without the mask before so color me surprised by this matchup!The brothers work really well together. Hit like a truck and pull off some incredible tag team offense.But they aren't the only team in this match working like a unit.Die Draufgänger are the tag team champions for a reason.They go all out in their matches. This time even ladders were involved! This tag team titlematch had something for everyone.On the one hand, you have the amazing speed and aethletic actions of the Draufgänger. On the other hand, the raw muscle power of Bobby & Banger. (And BOI do these guys love to flex their muscles during their matches!)We saw some insane performances and some wild action off the ladder. This was a tag team titlematch I enjoyed immensely. Maximum Wrestling Rohe Weihnacht ‘24 recap (December 14th 2024)Match no.3: Quick & Dirty VS RanderspagneAllow me to fanboi here for a little bit.YOOOO RANDERSPAGNE ARE COOL AS F**K!That was my first time seeing those two Danes and they delivered on all fronts. They got the looks, they got the moves and they make watching them so much fun. Really entertaining personalities that shine through in every tag team move or interaction with the crowd. They might be my favorites of the new people I discovered that evening.After seeing them for just a couple of moments I knew their match against Quck & Dirty would be a banger!Because Quick & Dirty go so hard.Every time I watch those two I am wowed. They are SO quick, SO explosive and leave their opponents NO ROOM to breathe. Really awesome stuff.The fans were really divided this time around. Maximum Wrestling Rohe Weihnacht ‘24 recap (December 14th 2024)Match no.2:Matthias Bernstein VS Dominik FischerAfter my first time seeing Bernstein I gotta say: I am intrigued, I would like to see more of him.I really liked his whole 'I'd rather be anywhere else than here' attitude he brought during his entrance. Also, the leopard coat and the trunks that look like paint splatches on them were a nice touch. Simply by appearance, I am hooked.Now I wanna see how he is in the ring against someone like Dominik Fischer.Fischer had a great year from everything I have seen personally. The guy really broke out as a singles competitor this year and carved a path looking straight at the top while also being an absolute crowd favorite. The people love the 'Surferboy'.His moves were quick and powerful, zooming around the ring and hitting Bernstein hard at times.This was a nice back and forth.Fischer and Bernstein felt evenly matched in my opinion wich usually means the one who slips up loses....Or the one who 'plays by his own rules rather than the strict rules of the ring' gets an advantage. Bernstein is that kinda guy. Maximum Wrestling Rohe Weihnacht ‘24 recap (December 14th 2024)Opening Match: Apu Singh VS Pascal Spalter for the Maximum ChampionshipAs a guy not familiar with most of the Maximum wrestling guys AND not being from Berlin, I don't really have a horse in this race....Who are we kidding, people on here know I am a Spalter fanboi since my first time I saw him and I am SO GLAD that here, in the Maximum universe he is the self-absorbed, arrogant and kinda delusional TV star a-hole I have come to enjoy so much over the years.The way he comes out and instantly lets the crowd know he thinks he's better than them and carries that throughout the entire match is something not many people can pull off. I like Pascal when he's mean but still does his goofy sh*t and this match really didn't disappoint, especially because the crowd HAAAATED HIM oh my God. It was like he's feeding off that energy and gets even cockier as the match goes on.And he definitely needed that for an opponent like Apu Singh.APU SINGH IS BUILT LIKE A TANK!Oh my God, why did no one tell me this? I probably should get around in wrestling Germany more. I was not prepared for how physical this match would be.Brutal, rough, hard-hitting and spilling out into the crowd. Spalter and Singh even brawled on top of each other in that empty seat right in front of me. I love when it gets up close and personal like this.Pascal was on fire, showing all the greatest hits of his that I got to experience life over the years but Apu Singh countered every bit of offense and wrecked Spalter's sh*t.GREAT opening match! Maximum Wrestling Rohe Weihnacht ‘24 recap (December 14th 2024)Kick-Off match no.2:Thomsen & Steven Crown VS CatharsisI normally don't get out of my usual wrestling bubble much so it's always fun seeing new people, such as Thomsen and Steven Crown.Thomsen is a big dude but surprisingly agile and explosive. You don't wanna get run over by this guy! Unfortunately for Catharsis, this is exactly what happened a couple of times. Oe of my favorite moves of the match was Thomsen picking up Steven Crown and just dropping the dude on top of Herbi Vara and Leo Nova. I love stuff like that! The crowd loves stuff like that!They do not love Catharsis though. I don't know if those guys are liked anywhere to be honest, but that shows that they know how to be THE a**hole team and they know that cheating is the way to get what they want (even if it doesn't work out more often than they probably want to admit). I think that was my first time seeing Leo Nova in a full match as part of Catharsis instead of Chris Titan. He fits in there quite well.Herbi Vara definitely taught him some things about how to bend the rules juuuust enough to get away with one's antics. Catharsis seems more dangerous than ever with the added manpower. Sucks for them that it didn't work out this time. Maximum Wrestling Rohe Weihnacht ‘24 recap (December 14th 2024)Kick-Off match no.1:Randleman VS Askeladd GormssonMY FIRST MAXIMUM SHOW!How exciting. My first time in Kiel as well.First of all, GORGEOUS location. Great place. Pair that with an INSANE crowd and I had the best first impressions I could have gotten <3The people of Kiel love their Wildschweinmann, holy sh*t! And I quickly learned why. That man is fun to watch. His entrance with the viking horn and the water spitting, the crowd loves these kinds of antics.It’s been quite a while since I saw Randleman last. Really cool to see more of him again. One of the people I have been there with is a big fan so he was undoubtedly hyped. That was a really fun match to kick off the evening.Gormsson is really powerful but Randleman is QUICK AS F**K so this was an interestic dynamic to watch. The man ran circles around the Wildschweinmann but only one decently places pounce of his could send Randleman flying.The crowd really hyped those two up as well.
