I recently purchased these antique early 20th century brass planters while in Saratoga. These beauties are being polished by Tom at Metalworks North in Beacon Falls, CT. If you need someone to polish copper, brass, plating, rewire lamps or chandeliers go to Tom. I will reveal them when I pick them up next week. by @mwrightvintage

Here are some of my favorite items to shop for. MCM carved Onyx boxes, bookends and trinket dishes are always on my list to BUY. What I look for when buying starts with color and striations of the stone. I hold it up to the light and look at the colors, banding and its translucence quality. I think about the carver you took the time to make the piece. I also think about how these items fit into a homes decor and its uses. Boxes for holding jewelry, trinket dishes for a catch all. My favorite are the horse book ends. Nothing like a stylized book case. These Onyx items will be coming soon to my booth. by @mwrightvintage

Coming soon a collection of antique and vintage baskets. My favorite item to shop for are baskets. 👏👏.
How do I choose baskets 👀
1. I look at form. It has to be aesthetically pleasing to look at.
2. I look at the weave and texture making sure the construction has standing structure. I also look for added details such as a braided edge, varying thickness of wicker and decorative banding.
3. When holding a basket, it should have balance and easy to carry. 4. I look for color or patina should be a warm honey brown or golden brown tone. I also like painted baskets too that have natural wear from use.
5. I think about the history of the basket and how it can be used in our homes today.
The stories baskets can tell are endless. Come shop vintage and antique baskets today. There’s always room in your home for one or two. by @mwrightvintage
