The sole remaining airworthy Lockheed L-1011 Tristar operates for Northrop Grumman as an airborne launchpad for Pegasus rockets to launch those as well as satelites. Here she can be seen landing on runway 30 at Long Beach Airport (LGB) after a 20 minute flight from the Mojave Desert (MHV) for the Long Beach airport’s festival of flight 2024.
