At MXT, we catalyze cross-sector innovation - Move forward with tech.
14-15th of January, Groningen.

On 13 January, MXT brings founders together with investors from the Netherlands and Germany at Niemeyer in Groningen.

A taste of the day:
𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 - Sander De Groot on going from researcher to founder. After 22 years in nuclear research, he co-founded THORIZON, a Franco-Dutch scale-up building a modular molten salt reactor.

𝗜𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 - sector meetups, plenty of room to network, more talks, hands-on workshops and an open mic where founders put their questions to investors, no question too basic. See the full program on the website.

𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴: Milan van der Meulen in conversation with Eva van Leeuwen on staying sane while creating impact. Milan built Soly into a company of 180 people across nine countries, went through burnout and bankruptcy, and started again.

Every founder registration is reviewed, so “𝘐’𝘭𝘭 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺” is not a strategy. 😉 And once you’re in, there’s 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝘂𝗽𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁: you’ll get a Tikkie after the event and decide the amount yourself.

Your brain runs on 20 watts. A data center running AI computations runs on 20 megawatt. Data centers running AI today consume more power than the entire country of Germany.

Saurabh Soni | IMChip is working on that gap with neuromorphic chips, designed to do more computing with less power. The ambition is to cut the power needed by a factor of 1,000.

On 13 January, MXT brings founders like Saurabh together with investors at Niemeyer, home of the Dutch AI Factory’s expertise centre. Join us to meet them, hear what they’re building and find the connections that move your company forward.

Registration is now open, link in bio!

𝗔𝘀 𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀.
Domain expert, technical co-founder fundraiser, and somewhere in between: salesperson.
Not the traditional kind though. The kind of a founder who can tell an honest story that’s yours, and own it. It’s one of the roles founders are least prepared for, and rarely something you figure out alone.

At MXT, we’re making space to talk about it with founders in your sector. The things that work, the things that don’t, what feels awkward.. and how others found a way of doing it that fits them.

No need to have the perfect story, just one that feels like yours. Being a founder comes with enough challenges as it is.

Put MXT27 in your calendar & come build with us.

Building a startup has a way of making everything feel important at the same time. Customers, team, product, funding, strategy...
So for 𝗠𝗫𝗧𝟮𝟳, we’re making it easier for you to focus on what matters next.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺: entrepreneurs share their stories and insights into how they prioritised their work when building their ventures.

𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: we’ve secured you a spot at the startup roulette, putting the right founder in front of the right investor.

𝗘𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: whatever’s standing between you and your next milestone, our ecosystem can help clear that hurdle.

𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆: MXT starts the evening before; over dinner, connect with people who share your journey.

A little less chasing, a little more getting there.

𝗪𝗲’𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲.
In January 2027, MXT is taking over Niemeyer in Groningen.
A former tobacco factory, now turning into a place for new ideas, ambitious companies and the AI Factory.

From tobacco to tech. Not a bad plot twist. From smoke breaks to breakthroughs. 😎

One day for founders, investors and everyone building ambitious things in the North, all under one veeery big roof.
This means better conversations and more chances to meet the right investor, expert, partner or fellow founder who can help with what comes next.
There’ll be talks, workshops, matchmaking and plenty of room for the useful chats in between.

Put this on your calendar, and now with the location too. 😉

𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱. 👀
Last MXT brought founders, investors and the wider startup ecosystem together for the conversations that matter: what’s changing, where the opportunities are, and what it takes to build and grow.

Watching the aftermovie back, there was quite a range on the table. From getting ideas to market faster and selling better, to deep tech, sustainability and what investors really look for in founders.

Behind the scenes, work is already underway on a new founder-focused programme for the next edition!

So, after watching this one back, we’re curious:

At MXT, we believe Northern Dutch innovation deserves the attention it needs to grow.
One day for founders, investors and everyone building something ambitious in the North.

MedTech, Life Sciences, Applied AI, Climate Tech… a lot is happening here, often within cycling distance of each other. And a lot of it is being built long before it makes the headlines.

MXT is where those worlds meet. Founders working on problems Europe needs solved, investors who understand what it takes for early-phase deep tech, and plenty of people who can help 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱.

𝗦𝗼 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮.

A day here is worth more than the hours it costs: a program to inspire, networking to unlock growth, a community to take your next concrete step with, and music to close the day.

Most founders are great at building. Far fewer are great at selling.
The biggest execution bottleneck for founders isn’t the product, hiring, or fundraising. It’s sales — according to Jakob Wredstrom, who spoke at MXT earlier this year.
Most founding teams have a domain expert and a technical co-founder. But telling an honest, convincing story that’s authentically yours is a completely different skill — and it’s becoming one of the most limiting factors in founder journeys today.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 ✨️

Real conversations on stage, speakers challenging each other, sharing what works and what doesn’t, from product-market fit to scaling and live demos.

Off stage, the conversations continued with energy, founders, investors and partners connecting, exchanging ideas and moving them forward.

Like our ambassador Mattias Scheek pointed out, connecting and networking is so important, you might be just two persons away from your next big step. So we hope you all keep connected with the inspiring people you’ve met at MXT.

Today, we heard what the future sounds like when tech meets creativity.

Day 2 done.
👉 Are you ready to move forward with tech?
