Better late than never, I guess.
What an incredible event at the Royal Pavilion (back in February 🙃). Everyone dressed to the nines, and I got to dance, dine and party with great and fun people, like it was 1812.
I’ve been riding that high since then.
1. The look I made in my favourite colour mix: ballet pink and black.
2. The Royal Pavilion is a such a beautiful place, and it made me feel like we all time traveled.
3. Mirror selfie.
4. @prairieashley ‘s ICONIC shrimp bag.

6. Another mirror selfie feat. @brucie_l
7. Our host @pinsent_tailoring
8. I have the talent of taking bad pics of great people.
9. A part of the Jane Austen table. I got to sit in the same table as one pf my icons and first follows on Instagram @dames_a_la_mode
10. Just. Look. At. This. Place. And. People.
11. Here the full look: @ari0mic.e dressed my (fake) hair in Mexico and packaged the wig I wore. Instead of a shawl I wore a rebozo handmade in Oaxaca, my jewelry was made of silver and pearls by Mexican artisans, and the shoes are the Penelope model from @americanduchess
12. Back to 2026.

I realised I didn’t take as many pics, but here a special shoutout to @bunnyandbobbins who took many of these pics and I missed take some of her. taken in Royal Pavilion Brighton by @my18thcenturysource

El año pasado (ya sé, no he posteado en un siglo) para la boda de mi prima en Cancun compré (via @etsy ) este vestido vintage de los 30s en la tienda de @myvintageloveblog . Hermoso, divino, en verde claro y bordaditos de flores.

.
Last year (I know, I haven’t posted here since forever) I bought this vintage #1930s dress from @myvintageloveblog ‘s etsy shop. I love it so much, the fit was perfect, and the shade of green even more perfect.

The zig-zag is our friend to drape all of the tulle laters. Lots of layers.

I made a thing last weekend! For my pointe class I made a toile for a tutu for our Holiday show. I followed the great class by the late Travis Halsey (available on YouTube! Look for “How to make a romantic tutu for professional dancers”), made available thanks to @rachelfinzen

In English, the main motifs of #flamestitch #embroidery are called:
1. Flame Stitch - the zig-zag
2. Hungarian Point - diamond
3. Bargello - curved motifs
We see examples of this embroidery at its peak in the #17thcentury and #18thCentury in furniture and accessories.

Traditionally it is stitched in wool on linen canvas, but nowadays we can perfectly use cotton threads. The motifs are colourful, or might use different shades of the same colour creating shading effects.

Would you try it? Maybe? But I’m sure you’d LOVE to watch how it is made, so I suggest @costumeandconservation awesome YouTube video “Making an 18th Century Bargello Pocket”. ✨ enjoy ✨

Flamestitch is also known as #FlorentineStitch or #BargelloStitch because of a series of chairs in the Bargello palace in Florence, but funny enough, in Italy it is known as punto unghero (Hungarian point). This embroidery was very popular during the #17thCentury and #18thCentury , for furniture, cushions, accessories and shoes.

If you're into #embroidery, you MUST take a look at these shoes (and my next posts), all from the Victoria & Albert Museum, of #PuntoFiamma or #flamestitch . This kind of embroidery is made with flat stitches laid in a mathematical pattern to create motifs, being the most popular/known one, the zig-zag motif.
