Create your own monster.

There is no right or wrong way to create. That's the magic of creativity.

Try this simple one. Give the kids a Collage Box and let their imagination take the lead. Let them invent their own Halloween monster.

Here are some prompts to help them get started:
- How many eyes does it have?
- Does it have wings, horns or tentacles?
- Where does it live?
- What does it eat?
- Is it a scary, silly or friendly monster?

Looking for a simple space-themed activity to try this week? Create your very own Salted Watercolour Galaxy! 🪐

Step 1 - Paint a piece of cardstock using dark blues, purples and black from your My Creative Box Watercolours.

Step 2 - While the paint is still wet, sprinkle over some salt and watch as it soaks up the watercolour, creating a beautiful galaxy-like texture.

Step 3 - Once dry, brush away the salt and add some space stickers, stars or your own little planets to finish your masterpiece.

It’s simple but full of science. Its a fun way to observe how the salt interacts with the wet paint, while also practising colour mixing.

Who knew a little sensory dough could take learning all the way to outer space? 🪐✨

Open-ended play occurs when creativity and learning collide. Today we used our Emotions Sensory Dough Kit to explore space themed STEM concepts through play:

👽 Make mini aliens — This is a great way to encourage imagination, practice fine motor skills and extend creative thinking as little hands shape and build their own creatures.

⭐ Create star constellations — This is a playful introduction to patterns, shapes and spatial awareness while recreating stars and connecting them to form constellations.

🚀 Code the rocket — Using our space rocket printable you can use the dough to fill in the rocket colours follow the code. This introduces early coding concepts like patterns, sequencing and problem-solving.

The beauty of open-ended play is that there isn’t one right answer. Children can experiment, make changes, test ideas and discover what happens along the way.

This is your reminder that our sensory dough kits are OPEN ENDED and can easily be used in STEM learning 💫

Our Collage Boxes are designed to be completely open-ended, which means there’s no one “right” way to use them. Your little ones use the materials to create whatever their imagination decides.

.....and because it's SPACE week we made ROCKETS. Check out these shape rockets made using our Dinosaur Collage Box 🚀 🌙🪐

They are super simple to make using coloured paper and glue. It's a great way to bring learning into creative play, as the kids can identify, cut and combined different shapes to build their rockets.
This helps them practice shape recognition and explore how different shapes can fit together.
