Some more highlights from last night’s epic @qthemusicshow concert @thelondonpalladium #jamesbond #qthemusic #davidarnold #londonpalladium #007 by @mybondlife

Fantastic evening at the London Palladium hearing @qthemusicshow and @davidgarnold performing some of David’s most iconic Bond compositions.

personal highlights for me were of course the music from Casino Royale, including all of African rundown and Miami International! Bravo all the musicians for pulling that off.

Plus David performing No Good About Goodbye (my favourite almost Bond song) and the amazing version of You Know My Name. What a way to celebrate 20 years of Casino Royale!

I’m not usually a novelty sock kind of guy…but I may have to wear these to @qthemusicshow this Sunday! @thelondonsockexchange

Today is a Skyfall Barbour kind of day. Wearing my @barbour Dept. B Commander Jacket which is the post-Skyfall jacket produced by Barbour due to popular demand. It is styled to look virtually identical to the coat worn in the movie. Perfect for the change of season.

I finally got around to reading Kim Sherwood’s final novel in the “Double O” series. For me this was the best of the bunch, for one simple reason. James Bond is back.

I haven’t been overly enthusiastic about the releases from Ian Fleming publications in the last few years since Anthony Horowitz left the series. Books set in the world of James Bond without James Bond as a character doesn’t appeal to me.

However this year we are being treated to 3 new Bond stories that actually contain 007 as a main character, where he belongs.

I really enjoyed the relationship between Bond and Harwood, and especially their journey through Russia into Japan. Unfortunately, I never quite connected with Sherwood’s other original characters, and sometimes the fan service to Fleming was a little overdone, but very good characterisation of Bond in this final novel.

A Bond morning after the Bond night before….some Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee as described by both Bond and Fleming as “the best in the world” in Live and Let Die…

21 years ago today Daniel Craig was announced as James Bond. And I’m very glad he was. He revitalised the series and he revitalised my love of Bond.

Very much enjoyed listening to the @bookclubpodhq discussion on Ian Fleming’s Goldfinger. An in-depth, intelligent and fun chat to discuss all things Fleming and 007. I’m delighted they enjoyed the book, while also acknowledging its problems.

While I would not agree that it’s the ultimate James Bond novel (sone plotting issues towards the end) , it’s definitely a fantastic book. And I love that they acknowledged that the James Bond of the novels is flawed, conflicted, and shows remorse and not just the perfect superhero of some of the movies. As they say – the Daniel Craig version!

It inspired me to reread this novel for the first time in a while.

Happy Global James Bond Day! Going right back to the start with the iconic Sean Connery in the very first James Bond movie Dr. No in 1962.

25 movies, six actors, and a hell of a legacy. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds.

(Just don’t expect any news today!)

A mix of Movie and Literary Bond today.

A cup of Blue Mountain coffee (the best in the world according to Bond & Fleming) and my Aston Martin DB5 watch from @atelier_jalaper

A little Hidden Bond to brighten my day.
