The Serpent and the Daughter by Willo Glenn is a sapphic epic fantasy that releases December 28th 2026, AND you can preorder it right now on Kindle, just visit the 🔗 on @willo_glenn 's page! ⚔️📚✨ And don't forget to add TSATD on Goodreads or your favorite TBR tracking app!

While you wait for The Serpent and the Daughter, I highly recommend reading the previously published story, Tempered in Ash, right now on Kindle! It is one of my favorite adventure fantasy stories, with lovable misfit characters, mysterious dark forces, and a sapphic romance that develops through the characters' journey.

In Tempered in Ash, Joyanna is a mercenary and a mentor to Ilde, a girl with a dark, magical past that comes back to haunt her. The Serpent and the Daughter is Joyanna's origin story, and I am so thrilled that this amazing side character has her own spotlight 🐍

Shout-out to @beauriiver for the beautiful cover art of both novels!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Tempered in Ash by Willo Glenn
First off, this book got me out of a massive reading slump. It is exactly the book I was searching for: character-driven fantasy, dark magic, and found family. 5/5🌟
It has been a long time since I felt this immersed in a book. The characters are real- flawed and wonderful- and the way they all interact and all of their different motives, I really felt like I got to know this rowdy band of misfits. The romance develops so genuinely and blends with the plot and character growth. The plot is full of little mysteries and questions, and the magic is mystical and intriguing. The writing style is clear and concise while also being beautiful and immersive.
📚 ✨ If this sounds like it's up your alley, @willo_glenn may have some more news coming soon 👀 ✨ 📚

I was so lucky the storm came around after I was inside 😂 I absolutely love writing when it's pouring out, I just feel really grounded and focused.

Hi I'm Micah, and I refuse to make a blurb to copy and paste! (she forgets every time until she's literally writing the caption 😂) I am an aspiring dark fantasy author, and my current manuscript is about a curious mage attending a school that teaches how to kill abyssal monsters. The characters face deadly assignments, a corrupt administration, and a choice: harden yourself against the dangerous world and lose your humanity, or die trying to save your soul.

Creatives worst nightmare- my laptop died 🪦☠️ but! 90% of my files were in the cloud! If you don't autosave your draft to some sort of cloud storage, please please please do it. I've used 2 laptops to failure, sometimes there are signs, but computers are NOT perfect, they can quit on you at any time. Please protect your work 🙏🙏🙏 by @myconid.writes

"Judge me not
For what I've become.
There's nothing more left
To be done.
All that remains,
Is long dead
And gone."
.
These lyrics are perfect for my villain.

Thank you so much @sffwriterchallenge , I have met so many wonderful people and had so much fun diving into others' and my own story.

Mages of the Midnight Sun is a dark fantasy academia centered in the themes of softness as strength and what it really means to be human. These characters are messy, overly ambitious, and at the end of it all, they just want to do the right thing.

But whether or not what they think is just is right remains to be seen.

I love a character who is ambitious to a fault 🖤 🗡️ 💀
.
Mages of the Midnight Sun is a dark fantasy academia that I haven't written a standard blurb for alright 😂 but if you like demons, blood witches, multiple libraries full of giant dusty tomes, and softness as strength, stick around 📚⚔️🪶✨

From this, you can see that my MC is a bookworm who loves soup- personally, I find that relatable 😂 Mages of the Midnight Sun is a dark academia fantasy that centers around softness as strength and maintaining what makes us human in a cruel, monster-filled world ⚔️❤️‍🩹
