The BBC included some of my YouTube footage in a London Marathon montage a couple of weeks ago. 🥳 If you have iplayer, you can check it out in the last 3 minutes of My Reason To Run, which was on BBC One the day before this year's marathon. I believe it was also used as the opening coverage to the race. A big thank you to the very awesome Philip Hughes and Nicholas Perry who produced and edited it. In other news, my Freddie Mercury series on YouTube has more than 20,000 views. One of my London Marathon TikTok videos has now reached 447,000 views. 😝When I started working on videos last year, I had no idea what I was doing. So much can happen in a year! The first of a three part series of features for Write On! begins next week. Can't wait for you guys to tell me what you think of it. Getting my ducks in a row for 2024. It all started with my first picture book in 2021, 'Dilly Dally Sally,' which was about a lost duckling. I wonder what this year will bring. 🙃Sorry I've been MIA. Taking a step back, watching the world, there's comfort in being at a safe distance. Can you believe this beautiful garden is free in London? 🌸 It was an enchanting surprise. Video captures the experience and I've included a few photographs in the reel. I've been in creative mode and loving it. Yesterday I made a YouTube video of last week's London Marathon. It features some of the amazing runners and charities, including @adamw13_ @age_uk @bigtedruns @hopeandhomesforchildren @teach_rex @nspcc @younglivesvscancerSo many incredible stories this year. I also added some more Rick Astley moments onto YT too - a Take That Want You Back singalong, and when he sang Roy Orbison's Pretty Woman. 8 hours of editing for 3 videos, it's still in my blood, since I was doing this flower reel for another hour this morning. 😝Please take a look, like, comment and subscribe to my YT channel. Spring shenanigans 🤣I was on a photography walk and everyone had just left when I took this pic. There's been a few chances to go out with my camera. Some unexpected, but I'll tell you more in another post. The Rick Astley / Gabrielle concert was a highlight this month. My lovely friend M gave me a spare ticket. It's been a long time since I've had a night out like this. I experimented a tad with my phone while recording the footage. Check it out on YouTube. Also, London Marathon was a blast last weekend. Ooh blue skies are coming back. 💙Can't wait for evenings by the river, day trips to the beach and chillaxing. Let's not forget bobbing boats, clouds like sheep and the sweet soft sun. The last few months have been work weekends to meet deadlines, 2am on a Friday night shutting down my computer to have dinner, staring into my fridge, looking for leftovers that aren't growing anything weird, avoiding the accusations from the 3 days of dishes in the sink.I am lucky for all the opportunities and exciting things coming up. I have pistacchio spread for my toast and a banana peanut butter chocolate milkshake. What more could I need?!This week I embraced my plant whisperer side with an afternoon on my wee balcony moving pots around like I'm playing tetris, planting bulbs and seeds, all of these preparations which will reward me with surprises through spring and summer. Speaking of surprises, there might be grass, a patch of it, but maybe it's not grass. Is it just some green to keep me company through the grey, or a St Patrick's Day glimmer perhaps? The mystery, smelling it, puzzling over the bulbs because it doesn't resemble anything I bought, yet it appeared in the winter. Lots going on with the writing side, playing more with humour. This year I want more laughter in my life. Is that funny, scheduling in a wry smile and giggle time? Happy December! This year I've pushed myself to try new things. Each time it becomes easier, as firsts become second times. It's wonderful seeing inexperience and fear in the rear view mirror. Self-doubt is still my friend, but I'm learning to trust that the future has both ups and downs. Today, and this month have been more up than down. It's thankfully been less intense.Some writing on the weekend, last week and this week too. There's something about this time of year. Maybe it's because I had writing goals for the year which I likely won't achieve, and so I'm trying to make myself feel better about them. 😝I love how roses survive the cold of winter, vibrant colours amidst the gloom. The soft scent of their petals, so sweet, alluring, bringing us into the now. I've done more photography this year, and there's been lots of other things going on which I'll share soon. Btw I really liked adding different hashtags. It's a shame that new updates these days make IG less fun ...
