I’m so honored to be featured in Autumn Brilliance magazine. I was never one of those kids who fit in with the popular crowd. It always seemed like they would find some random thing to point out, making me feel like a hideous beast.

Until one day, I realized all of my my beastly bits were what made me, me.

My artwork, while niche, is the vessel in which I put all the stories that swirl around in my head.

The Halloween art community is where I’ve found belonging.

@Autumn Brilliance, thanks for letting me sit with the cool kids. by @mydearestwitch

We had quite the ruckus in the sky last night. As many of you know, I don’t sleep well during storms, so today will be in slow motion. All is well at our little pink house, no debris this time.
It’s wet outside still. My house is still asleep except for the four leggeds. It’s pretty outside and fairly quiet. Perfect for getting my mind on track for the day. We are feeding Trinket the squirrel daily now. He loves walnuts and today I saw him eat a big bug, maybe a July fly or a cicada.
Last weekend we stumbled on a little town hosting a foam party! We had a bast watching the kids enjoying themselves in an analog way.
Today, I’m so excited to introduce you you to another wonderful Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween artist. She will travel to historic Marshall, Michigan from Pennsylvania.
I’m getting Willow ready for 8th grade! Can you imagine? Many of you remember her when she was just a baby at my first Halloween art show.
We are also planning a lovely gallery show at Eastend in Marshall. The theme this year is dark fairytales, and it really gives me a spark of magic to think about it.
I hope you all have an easy day filled with softness. by @mydearestwitch

Well, that was the best show EVER. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit was amazing and that old adage of, don’t meet your heroes, isn’t always true. He’s kind, funny and amazing. taken in Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park by @mydearestwitch

My grandmother was an antique dealer. She set up a shop in her cinder block garage. She specialized in pottery, southern folk art and textiles. I was her shadow, absorbing an education in developing an aesthetic. I soaked in everything like a little sponge.

Still, to this day, the best sparks of dopamine come from being at a market surrounded by living, walking palettes of art.

The artwork at Bewitching Peddlers is highly curated to elicit the same feeling I had as a young person, surrounded by curious treasures.

See us at Bewitching Peddlers.

I cleaned a flower bed today before I realized I had my Vincent Van Gogh Magnolia Pearl dress on. I guess I’m of the mind set anymore that if it’s comfortable, I’m going to wear it. I’m not saving dresses for special occasions anymore, because all occasions are special. by @mydearestwitch
