My darling Violet. 💜 It is unbelievable to think she has been gone 2 1/2 years. Some days it feels like an eternity, and other days I can still feel her face near mine. The greatest salve to my sorrow has been working along side @thecavalierrescue and raising awareness & funding for Cavaliers in rescue living out their days in hospice care. Last month I learned that the Violet Fund had exceeded $50K. 💜. This makes me so emotional, humbled and grateful. To all of YOU who have supported, cheered us on & shared this important message… we thank you, profoundly. For the Cavaliers that have been neglected, abused & now rescued & medically fragile. Rescue & The Violet Fund offers a change in fate because of your support. While nothing will bring Violet back, I feel as though I’ve been shown a sacred space here to share, connect and grieve. This has been a long and arduous journey of healing but I’ve met so many amazing people along the way that understand. Thank you! 💜. “It is not how much you give, but how much love you put into the giving.” Mother Teresa. 💜. If you are grieving & in need of support here are resources: @petlosspsychologist @refugeingrief @seniordogdoc 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼. Seven years ago, I said goodbye to my heart dog, Violet.
She was gentle, soulful, loving beyond words — the kind of dog who leaves paw prints on your heart forever.

Violet died from CHF, a loving, medically fragile dog taught me so much about devotion, patience, grief, and unconditional love. Even now, after all these years, I still miss her deeply.

In her honor, I want to shine a light on the incredible work being done by the hospice and medically fragile program through Cavalier Rescue. They open their hearts to the dogs who are most vulnerable — the seniors, the sick, the ones needing specialized and end-of-life care. There is a direct donation match going on for the Violet Fund. Every dollar donated. 💜 ( up to $5k)

What makes this program especially meaningful is that 100% of donations go directly toward the care of these dogs: medications, diagnostics, cardiology visits, comfort care, and giving them the love and dignity every dog deserves, and most of all love in a home.

Violet would have been wagging her tail at the overwhelming support that the VF has made with countless rescue cavaliers over the years.
So this is in dedication to you Violet and for every fragile little soul still waiting to be loved that needs the support of the Violet Fund. To donate link in bio. Thank you for your kindness. 💜@thecavalierrescue

Forever my heart dog.
Forever missed.
Forever loved. 💜

Ginger you were such a good girl. Truly, the goodest girl. My darling girl. 16 years old. A unicorn in the Cavalier world. I am saddened to share the news we said good bye to Ginger this morning. She had been declining for the past few weeks with moments of pure joy. It was not lost on me how extremely fortunate we were to have had her so long. She was such a bright light and a constant companion. Forever under the desk next to my feet, always bouncing down the hall with her younger sisters. Formerly the younger sister to the original “my four Cavaliers.” Puppy face no matter her age. Took her time eating and always had to sleep on a minimum of 2 pillows with a massive thread count. She wanted for nothing but didn’t need much. She would search the room only to be reassured to find my face. That’s all she ever wanted was to be near. At all times. Ginger you stayed so long. You let me know you were tired. We were simply out of time my dove. Thank you for loving us and letting me be your Mom. You changed me. Walked through the hardest & best times of my life. I will miss you dearly & forever grateful for the little heart beat at my feet. Enjoy the squad. You are all back together again #cavaliersofinstagram #cavaliers #petloss cavaliercommunity by @myfourcavaliers

Nothing like the love of a senior dog. It’s not lost on me how lucky we are to have this lady. Some days really wobbly and others bouncing down the halls. One thing is for sure, our dogs remind us to stay present and be in the moment. Each day is a gift. #ckcs #seniordogs #cavaliers #cavalier #cavaliercommunity by @myfourcavaliers

“Oh to be in England / now that April’s there” Robert Brownings 1845 poem, “Home Thoughts, From Abroad.” He expresses a homesickness and nostalgia for the English Spring. The lush countryside and blossoms. After spending 10 days in the countryside I can see why. Early spring offers so much hope, beauty and new life. We were very fortunate to have seen so many cavaliers as well. #englishcountryside #cotswalds #spring by @myfourcavaliers

C I N D E R ✨ Our tiny little foster baby. What a joy you’ve been. @thecavalierrescue called and said her owners health had declined and Cinder was brought back to rescue. She has had two grooming sessions, countless walks exploring new places. Fitting right in with her ruby squad and Blenheim big sister. She loves meal time & sleeping in the big bed. She is hilarious with her toys, carries them around the house. Especially after dinner. She snores like a truck driver. Snuggles tight right next to you any chance she can. She can’t hear well, so if she can’t find you in the house she will run like a little torpedo until she does. Since she can’t hear, I make up a new nick name daily. Including rooty tooty booty. She has been such a joy! We are so grateful to open our home to foster. If you are available to foster, transport or help. Please contact @thecavalierrescue. You’ll be glad you did. #rescuecavalier #cavalierrescue #cavalier_feature #cavaliers #rubycavalier #cavaliercommunity #cavalier #cavalierclub #cavlife #cavaliercorner #cavalierslove_feature #kingcharlescavalier #kingcharlesspaniel #itsadogslife #rescuedog #reacuedogsofinstagram #puppymillrescue by @myfourcavaliers

Happy 15th Birthday Ginger 🎈. I’m so lucky to be your mama. This is our first birthday celebrating without your best brother - litermate Jackson. While our hearts break knowing he isn’t physically with us, we feel him always by our side. Ginger you still look like a little baby. You love being in a girl squad and still bounce down the hallway. You continue to surprise us with your love and willingness to keep showing up in spite of your difficulties as you age. Ginger is in her own league as a Cavalier. She actually only likes maybe 3 people and tolerates her sisters. She still barks at her dad, anyone who walks in the house, the grandkids and at absolutely nothing. She is not very friendly but loves her mom and has to be close at all times. She doesn’t usually want to still on your lap or be pet too much, but she lives her best life sleeping under your feet, on your head and in her bed if it’s right next to you. She has her eyes on my at all times. Very Velcro baby. I can’t believe she’s 15. She’s been the baby, welcomed in rescues siblings and foster pups. She is very loyal and I couldn’t love her more. #ckcs #cavaliercommunity #cavaliers #cavalierrescue #cavalierworld #itsacavthing #cavalierclub #blenheim #blenheimcavalierkingcharlesspaniel #birthdaydog by @myfourcavaliers
