DATE day 🥹🌸 at @the_rhs Chelsea Flower Show! The hubs and I were invited by the @KingsTrust to Chelsea for the day (I know right!?😅) AND we got a private tour of their gold medal garden: Seedling Success, what a great cause and achievement. Such an amazing moment and one we’ll never forget. Hubs found @themontydon and I sneaked behind a bush to take a pic 👀😁 gosh I LOVE him! Seems from my stories I’m not alone! 🩷😆 Hope you like my highlights, SO much inspiration for our own little garden. Truly was a day I’ll NEVER forget.

I showed my bush on my stories and you all loved it, so I thought it deserved a spot on the grid.

This hedging is called Escallonia Iveyi. It’s an evergreen shrub which can grow up to 3m in height. It’s got lovely glossy dark green leaves, and in mid and late summer it flowers this lovely white flower that also smells amazing.

It’s not only pretty, but it’s green all year round (when not in flower), and is great for adding a bit of privacy.

Make sure you save for future reference. ☑️

We all know how important it is to have the right lighting inside our house, but have you thought about your outdoor spaces? Now that so many outdoor spaces are extensions of our homes with lounging, kitchen, and dining areas, outdoor lighting is just as important!

There are so many benefits to outdoor lighting:
💡Improved safety & security
💡Increased use of the space after sunset
💡Setting the ambience and mood
💡Increased property value

I have used a variety of functional and decorative lighting in our outdoor entertaining area with a mixture of solar, battery, and mains-powered lights ✨️

The best advice I could give you when choosing outdoor lighting is to go for those with an IP rating of IP44 or higher. The IP rating tells you how effectively it is protected from the elements such as water and dust. As outdoor lighting meets all sorts of things, you want to make sure it has the correct level of protection!

The lighting we have used includes:
Pendant in the pergola
Festoon lights
Spike uplighters on the fence
Table lamps
Lanterns
Fire pit 🔥 and candles, too 🕯

GARDEN MAKEOVER SAVINGS🌿 by @home_by_the_cloud - Don’t forget to save or tag a friend who needs to see this.
@home_by_the_cloud Sophie says:

‘FIVE ways we saved thousands on the cost of our garden transformation. This is what we spent versus the quotes that we had…

1. DIY slatted fences we used roofing battens from a local timber merchant to build our slatted fences - cost £250 instead of the £2,000 we were quoted

2. Designing the garden, so I know this isn’t very professional as I literally used scraps of paper to plan our garden design 🤦🏼‍♀️ but it cost us nothing versus £400 we were quoted for a design

3. DIY slatted screening we added this to the top of our existing fences using roofing battens for the slats - cost £220 versus £1500 we were quoted

4. Levelling our garden we hired a digger for £75 for the day, we were quoted over £1000 for someone to come and do this for us

5. Cobbled stone borders, reusing stones from the areas of our garden we dug up and laying these ourselves cost us £30 for some materials versus £500 it would have cost for someone to do it for us’
