With everything I’ve been carrying, I’ve found myself doing more than just reading the Bible. I’ve been rewriting Scripture, studying it, sitting with it, and letting myself feel it. 📖🤍

There’s something about slowing down enough to write His Word with my own hands that quiets some of the noise inside of me. I may not have answers for everything happening in my life, but I’m finding peace in these pages that my circumstances haven’t been able to give me.

Maybe healing for me in this season looks like this page by page, Scripture by Scripture, letting God meet me in the places I’m still trying to understand. 🤍 by @myiesha.bee

Homemade chicken noodle soup made in my Ninja PossibleCooker Pro and I love that I could sauté everything right in the pot, let it cook, then switch to Keep Warm. One pot, less mess, and a cozy dinner ready for the family. 🍲

Ingredients

* 6 bone-in chicken thighs
* 2 thin-sliced chicken breasts
* Minced garlic
* 1 whole white onion, sliced
* 6 celery sticks, sliced
* 6 carrots, sliced
* 2 cups chicken broth
* 4 chicken bouillon cubes
* Avocado oil
* Noodles
* Water as needed for your preferred amount of broth

Instructions

1. Set the PossibleCooker to Sear/Sauté. Add avocado oil, onion, garlic, and chicken. Sauté to build flavor.
2. Add the chicken broth, bouillon cubes, and enough water to cover the chicken. Let it boil for about 1 hour, or until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
3. Add the celery and carrots; cook for 15 minutes.
4. Add the noodles and cook for about 12 minutes, or until tender.
5. Serve warm or switch the cooker to Keep Warm until everyone’s ready to eat. by @myiesha.bee

I have to remind myself that effort still counts, even when my body, mind, or life won’t let me move at the pace I want to. Some days, getting through the day is the accomplishment. 🤍 Give yourself some grace. by @myiesha.bee

I’ve spent so much of my life knowing how to survive that being loved gently still catches me off guard sometimes.

There were parts of me that truly believed I was too damaged, too heavy, too complicated, or too far gone to be loved well. And then there were moments with you that challenged every one of those beliefs.

You didn’t create my healing, but your love has given me a safe place to experience parts of it.

You’ve loved me in seasons where I struggled to love myself. You’ve brought light into places in me that had gotten used to darkness. And somehow, through all of the serious conversations, fears, growing pains, laughter, prayer, and ordinary days, loving you has reminded me that softness can still exist after survival.

I don’t take that lightly.

I love you for who you are, but I’m also deeply grateful for who I’m learning I can be while being loved by you. 🤎 by @myiesha.bee

When I became a mother, I had so many hopes for my children.

I wanted to give them stability, opportunities and a life that felt easier than mine. I thought if I worked hard, went to school and kept trying different things, eventually I would be able to give them everything I imagined.

But life didn’t always work out that way.

I’ve had to mother through chronic illness, pain, depression, financial struggles and seasons without a village. And now that my children are getting older, I’m also learning that they have their own journeys. They will make their own choices, face their own struggles and learn lessons I can’t learn for them.

Sometimes children only see Mom. They don’t always see Myiesha the woman who is human, who had dreams of her own and who kept going even when she was tired.

I may not have given them the exact life I pictured, but I hope they always know that everything I did was rooted in love. @packitcool we’ve been together for over 10 years the BEST lunchboxes by @myiesha.bee

Some battles don’t look like battles from the outside.

You can still show up. Still smile. Still take care of people. Still handle business. Still look “strong”… while quietly carrying things that have exhausted you mentally, emotionally, financially, and physically.

I know what it feels like to keep functioning when life has given you very little room to fall apart.

So from one woman who has had to survive a lot to another:

I hope you win the battles you don’t explain.
I hope the things you cry about privately get lighter.
I hope you find people and places where you don’t always have to be the strong one.
And I hope somewhere in all that carrying… you remember to choose yourself too.

You deserve more than survival. You deserve to experience what it feels like to live again. 🤍 by @myiesha.bee

HOW I MAKE IT 👇🏽

Boil linguine + drain.

Sauté shrimp in a little avocado oil with onions & minced garlic with seasoned shrimp + 2 tbsp lemon juice.

Once shrimp are cooked, add:
1 stick butter + minced garlic + 1 tbsp lemon juice.

Let everything melt together, then toss in the linguine until coated.

Top with Parmesan if you want. 🤌🏽🍝 by @myiesha.bee

Nobody tells you that one of the sweetest parts of loving somebody deeply is getting to witness all the random little versions of them.

The serious one.
The tired one.
The stressed one.
The prayerful one.
And then… this one. 😂

And somehow, after all the conversations, all the real life, all the weight we both carry, I still get these little moments where I just look at him and think, “Yep. That’s my person.”

Not because everything is perfect.
Not because life is always easy.
But because even in the middle of all of it, there’s still laughter, softness, friendship, and this man dancing like nobody asked him to. 😂🤎

That part matters to me more than I knew it would. by @myiesha.bee

There was a version of me who was so tired of surviving that she didn’t want to be here anymore.

She had already endured surgeries, chronic pain, heartbreak, abuse, motherhood, financial loss, depression, homelessness, and years of carrying more than she ever had space to process.

But she stayed.

Not perfectly.
Not without breaking.
Not without questioning God, life, and herself.

She stayed anyway.

And today, when I look at everything I’ve survived, I realize resilience doesn’t always look strong. Sometimes it looks like crying in private, going to therapy, praying with barely enough faith to get the words out, and choosing to make it through one more day.

So no, I don’t take being here lightly.

I am living proof that the darkest chapter of your life does not have to become the ending.

If you’re in a season where simply continuing feels heavy, please remember: you only have to make it through today. 🤍 by @myiesha.bee

A year ago today, I was arguing back and forth with a landlord I had already paid a deposit to because he went back on what we agreed to and then refused to give me my money back. He was rude, condescending, and I was standing there realizing I might actually be preparing to become homeless for the first time in my life.

I had no idea that season would turn into almost 90 days in a hotel.

And now, a year later, I’m still standing in the recovery of something I never planned for.

That’s what people don’t always see about survival. Just because the crisis ends doesn’t mean your body knows it’s over.

I’ve been on my own since 17. I learned how to carry responsibilities, children, pain, bills, fear, disappointment, everybody else’s needs… and keep moving.

But somewhere in all of that, I never really learned how to carry myself.

I function very highly. I can look okay, speak clearly, show up, create, mother, love, handle business, and still be depressed. Still be exhausted. Still be living with chronic illness. Still have a nervous system that remembers what my mouth has already learned how to explain away.And that’s the part people don’t always understand about surviving for too long: your body keeps the score. The exhaustion. The tension. The anxiety. The shutdown. The constant feeling that you have to keep going because stopping doesn’t feel like an option.

That is why therapy matters to me.

Therapy is me choosing to make room for the person who spent years making room for everybody else.

It is me learning that surviving something is not the same as recovering from it.

It is me finally asking, after everything I have carried:

What does Myiesha need now?

A year ago, I was fighting to keep a roof over my head.

Today, I am fighting to become a safe place for myself. 🤍 by @myiesha.bee

I trust God because I’ve seen what He can carry me through. Seasons I never thought I’d survive and somehow, He kept me through all of it. So even when I don’t understand what He’s doing, I can trust the God who never stopped being faithful then. 🤍 by @myiesha.bee
