What age did your kids transition from a cot to bed?

With Nina we waited until 3 because she wasn't trying to climb out. I'm thinking we will do the same with Lou unless she decides to start climbing.

Is it just me that hoards leftover pieces of timber?

I just can't seem to part with them. Most of the time I find another use for them. Sometimes years down the track. Like this project!

I'd been looking for a way to update the powder room and possibly change the tiles. But this was a much cheaper option. I ended up going with Hog Bristle paint colour and I think I've found my perfect beige!

The lounge of my dreams has arrived 😍

As soon as I saw this one from @earlysettlerfurniture I knew it was the one.

I'd been looking for quite a while to replace our linen lounge and just couldn't find one that ticked all the boxes. This one was the perfect colour, material, style and the cushion covers all come off. Plus it's super comfy which is undeniably the most important part of a lounge!

Nature's artwork never seems to disappoint. Especially with Swiss cheese plants (monstera adansonii). The holes are so fascinating! I've actually had a few new leaves recently grow straight through the hole in a leaf and unfurl. It makes it very hard to pull them back through once they unfurl so I have to keep an eye on it.

Here are some care tips for Swiss cheese plants 🪴
• Bright, indirect light (no sun directly on the leaves)
• Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry
• Loves higher humidity (great for a bathroom)
• Use a well-draining potting mix

The last month or so we've been giving our kitchen a mini makeover. Pendants that the kitchen has always been missing, painting the grout white and now a new tap! We also have a new sink on order but it is delayed getting to Australia 🥲 I decided to go with the Turner Hastings white fire clay sink so that I don't have to deal with stains on a white sink. I think it will be worth the wait judging by reviews. The tap that we went with is a @abiinteriors pull down filter tap. It's such great quality!

Also, a moment for my pothos plant. It doesn't seem to care that it doesn't get any light in the kitchen. It has grown so fast even through winter. Add it to your plant list!

It's been a while since we've added a new pin to our travel board. We are very excited to be going to Cook Islands next month with the family. Our map didn't have Cook Islands on it so I had to create one out of leftover pieces 😂

People often ask how to have plants around kids.

Plants are a great learning opportunity for kids. But having them around can sometimes be tricky for younger curious kids.

I found that the worst age for the kids wanting to touch, rip and pull over plants was between learning to crawl and learning to walk. Once they got over this exploration stage, they had better things to do than to touch the plants.

Get kids involved in caring for plants. Take them to the nursery to pick them out, put some in their rooms and let them water them. It's a fun activity to do.

Fire season is here 🔥

Still one of the best things we've added to our house. I thought maybe the novelty would wear off but it hasn't! The extra work is worth it over using a heater. It's one of the only things I look forward to about winter 😂
