WHO IS IT FOR?
Women/people who love fashion, enjoy meeting people and appreciate an event with a little more personality. Bring your friends, invite your colleagues or come on your own and meet someone new.
ABOUT @fashionfiestabymyken is a series of events created by @mykenontheinside , bringing together fashion, music, hospitality and connection in memorable venues. THIS TIME LAST WEEK I WAS IN FULL-THROTTLE @fashionfiestabymyken MODE.🤩bringing the vibes creating a new style event.
So before I launch into the next one in three weeks @whiteandwongsnewmarket , I’ve been going through my list of the people who made FF happen & there are A LOT
This one started back in May with @daveejac and the @batchwinery team, locking in the venue, responsibilities and all the details. As well as their wonderful rose bubbles for arrival drink & @alchemyandtonic for non alcoholic. @hailwooda invite design❤️
@plantpotionsnz Lou and I worked through the media and communications. @djgabrielle HAD to play because she’s so special on Waiheke, and she requested @djrosealice with her. @mctaliofficial & @missbmusic77 were already locked in
Around 12 designers were contacted before we landed on our final 4. @hailwooda @shenclothing @augustinebykellycoe @wearyoga. I have 3 sponsors I very much rely on. @redeleven_models - the best @partydirectnz making the sound and lighting happen, @word_on_fashion helped tell the designer stories and on the day @norrie.montgomery captured it all. @iticketnz is now a 4th sponsor and they are EPIC. For transport & logistics - @heletranz @waihekeexecutivetransport @sealinknz @islanddirectnz. Promotion - Waiheke Gulf News, Waiheke Print, @actual.nikki and friends helping to spread the world.
Ruth Baron took on the hair and makeup vision & creates a bridge to the designers & creates the look for them. bringing Angela & @christa.loisel hair into the team.
Gabriel, a 19-year-old videographer I met in the Waiheke library. Kyran Black joining us as a model. @gems_botanical_beauty bringing it at the entrance design. Special thanks @kiri_d_styles_ . @huia_hannah @simone_anderson @britcunningham_ @luluwilcox @raineebow @raine_downes @stevens.teena. Goodie bags @richiedish @elta_ego @nouglywellness @waiheke_water @mrsmackayspantry @viberi_organic @togetherjournal @islandbatch @plantpotionsnz @tasti magic cleaner f& b prize. @waihekeislandresort @christa.loisel @theislandgrocer @waihekebutcher @batchwinery @placemakers_waiheke @iskin.nz Surely I’ve forgotten someone- I’m grateful for everyone even if I missed U out❤️ by @mykenontheinside

Our Flight Mists were in Fashion Fiesta Goodie Bags 🛍️
Did you get one?

I saw lots of the models and crew using them backstage to cool, calm and refresh.

It’s always a pinch me moment when I see our beautiful plant based aromatherapy doing good in the 🌎

Leave us a review and help spread the Plant Potions ❤️ oh and enjoy your juicy discount code!

@fashionfiestabymyken is a wrap & I’m elated & inside out. I feel quite overwhelmed by my loving sisters who helped me out. A few with no cash payment who totally blew me away w bringing the story in a way that I knew front of house and backstage were taken care of. You can’t be everywhere when the gig is on - so trusting the team is imperative. I always feel like there are people that don’t get thanked/ acknowledged enough at events and it’s overwhelming cos there are so many on the day making it come together. So here’s a few mentions in order of photos 1. @actual.nikki - extraordinary door running and leading up to event with posters and support. Epic. Sitting under @gems_botanical_beauty arch. 2. @mctaliofficial show MC @kiri_d_styles_ Best ever backstage production and taking care of everyone. Packed 200 goodie bags, loved me and giving designers reassurance it’s all looking amazing even if they aren’t at the gig. Wow. 3. Some really fun cool fashion lovers came @simone_anderson that’s you ! 4. Show time @pia.la.joie 5. Me wearing one of the most comfortable and sexy at same time outfits @shenclothing It feels very special wearing an outfit from a designer in the show. 🙏 6 @gemmayeoman @gems_botanical_beauty made this beautiful archway to display the goodie bags and the arrival moment. It looked so good 😊 and a part of the @batchwinery we forgot to take it down at the end. 7. @augustinebykellycoe this dress was a hit. A few of the team are keen. 8. @whiteandwongsnewmarket hosts @fashionfiestabymyken on 21 October. This week is 20% early bird ticket. Let’s keep this puppy growing. 9. Thanks to the beautiful Kyran walking the show wearing @wearyoga 10. Thanks 🙏 Gabriel a wonderful young man I met in the waiheke library 📚 last week. Starting out as a videographer I nabbed him and he worked all day been instructed by many from my team. Can’t wait to see the footage. 11. @britcunningham_ @mimi.ane1 @shenclothing This front row makes me happy. My Mum Sitting next to Britt & her Mum w a designer in the mix. YES. 12 @hailwood always a hit 13. @djgabrielle on the beats & pack-down @partydirectnz The sound and light is always so good.🙏 by @mykenontheinside

3 days untill @fashionfiestabymyken @batchwinery. Friends please follow my new gig - all the support & energy is soaked up by me 🙏 This is a Waiheke - appreciation post. Number one @plantpotionsnz Lou who creates all the social media & SO MUCH MORE. Events are bloody hard and there is no I in event. Having support & advice from someone who gets the vision and big picture is IMPERATIVE 🙏 I’ve lived in Waiheke Island for 23 years and the only event I’ve done here is a netball fundraiser. Beautiful connecting w Island brands and people has been rewarding. @daveejac is the anchor of it all - this event doesn’t work without a venue who are easy to work with and get my vision & wider connectivity This man is a friend & @batchwinery is perfect for this event and the venue being a destination w views. There has been a story in Waiheke Weekender, interview with @waihekeradio a giveaway & support from @sealinknz and amazing working w @waihekeexecutivetransport. Connection with @islanddirectnz has been a bright light. Competition for our ferry travel is good people! There are so many other Waiheke brands involved in the event & tagged in this post. This event is more fiesta than fashion. It’s inclusive and fun with amazing beats and sound & the show is the art, beauty & moment. 4 hours of mingle and mincing & this gig has an after party included in the ticket w @djgabrielle who is the sister that got me to Waiheke- my fave DJ. Tickets are $55 or $160. Everyone gets a glass of bubbles or non alcoholic on arrival & $160 gets to sit for the 30 min show & $200 goodie bag. Tickets on @iticketnz cos it’s SO MUCH better for me and my seating plan to pre buy 🙏. For everyone attending-spend $50 on F&B and go into the draw for $1200 prize from all my fave waiheke places. It’s gonna be fun people - now back to emails. by @mykenontheinside

Choosing the models for @fashionfiestabymyken is one of the easiest parts of creating this event. Anyone who is in events knows how much work is involved to get it right and my fave saying is there is no I in the word event! There is ALOT of ME in putting this together with SERIOUS social media & spiritual support from @plantpotionsnz Lou🙏 @hailwood for design. However my sponsors like @redeleven_models make me feel confident I can deliver what the designers need and keep the crowd happy. The comment from the inaugural @fashionfiestabymyken was that the models were relatable to everyone in the audience. They can connect and get the shots I need from @norrie.montgomery Most of all working with @jojomadame & @mandyjacobsen11 makes it easy and clear - also they have the best models for this event. Thanks and I can’t wait to have the gals together again with their amazing professionalism, energy & camaraderie. Gals - Thanks for choosing my gig again. I do appreciate & love you very much🙏#gratidão #fashionfiesta #redeleven #models by @mykenontheinside
