Thank you basketball; for all the memories, friendships and everything you have given me.

Basketball has been a huge part of my life since 4th grade. When I was little, I loved dressing up and going to all of the older kids’ games and cheering them on. Whether it was football or basketball, it was so special to me. I looked up to those kids and wanted to be an amazing athlete just like them one day. Although this season didn’t end the way we wanted it to, I hope that all the younger kids who supported me this season can one day say I was a good role model to them. I hope I showed them what basketball is about. I have felt; and still feel, so loved and appreciated, and I hope that all those little kids out there know that they can do anything they set their minds to.
The start of this year was very up and down for me. After my junior year ended, I was nervous about my senior season and unsure of what it had in store. But no matter what, I’ll always be able to say this sport has taught me valuable lessons and helped make me who I am today. It has built me into a stronger person and taught me to persevere when things get tough, to battle and fight in everything I do.

I want to thank everyone for the love and support you’ve shown me and my teammates from fourth grade up until now. I will always hold this sport close to my heart and be forever grateful for it. This sport has changed my perspective in everything I do. This year, my love for basketball grew more than I ever thought possible. I learned to appreciate the things I’m given, because you never know what could happen.

I’m sorry it’s long, but the rest is in the comments - by @myleighgrace
