(I swear you better read this because it took me long to type and I’m sure I still have typos 🤣) And there you have it folks the 2025 Gi season has come to an end. On the serious note, first let’s take a moment to look at this 1st photo above and notice my knees that look like a crying babies face. (SCROLL UP TO SEE IT’S WORTH IT) This symbolizes how I felt after having to pull out of this years Worlds the day of because I caught the new “B Flu ” that has been going around 🎻 😆 With that said, I am happy to have ended this GI season ranked the #1 Female M2 Black Belt in the World! Beginning of the year that was my goal and I achieved it! Say whhhhhaaat! What an experience this has been. I do want to get one thing straight though. This doesn’t actually really mean that I’m the #1 M2 black belt in the world (cus I know some hobbiest that can show me what’s up) it just means I have been fortunate enough to have an amazing husband and son that I get the ability and opportunity to travel/ go on vacation to coach and compete in these ibjjf tournaments. It’s that and my team. My team kills me on the mats everyday so time for tournament it’s not so bad. I basically get killed to not get killed by strangers. It is y’all who gave me that chance and opportunity to stand on that stage to get to hold that #1 spot. So I pretty much I owe this to everyone, my faith, my team Engle BJJ @englejiujitsu , the man who started it all @cascaojiujitsu , my sweetheart, my fam and friends that I sacrificed not seeing to go coach or compete, my sponsors @vanguardkimono @ageless_prw and the whole vegas bjj community who open their doors to me or those girls who had gracefully came to my gym to help. So thank you guys so much! BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY “I want to thank me for believing in me, I want to thank me for doing all this hard work. I wanna thank me for having no days off. I wanna thank me for never quitting. I wanna thank me for always being a giver and trying to give more than I receive. I wanna thank me for trying to do more right than wrong. Double gold at Masters Internationals. 🥇🥇This one was a tough one, I pushed myself to pull guard and hit what I’ve been working on at the gym. This is the very 1st tournament ever in ALL the years I’ve been competing jiu jitsu where I pulled guard in EVERY fight! If you know me, I’m more of a “take down, top player.” So it’s a “moment” for me, so let me have it haha. There were mulltiple tournaments where I just stood the whole fight cus I didn’t want to pull and wanted the take down or top position. I was so stubborn. We all have goals and mine is to keep making myself feel uncomfortable and challenge myself everyday and pulling guard for me at a tournament was one of my goals and I did it! 2024 No Gi worlds 🥇and No Gi PanAm 🥇. I can’t believe I did it! In the beginning of the year I wrote down all my goals one being “competing in a no Gi tournament.” If you know me, I’m never in no Gi class until recently. I am proud of myself, and that takes a lot for me to say. I’m proud because I set a goal and I worked my butt off for it despite how uncomfortable or how much I sucked at it. I think I’ve trained harder than any Gi tournament I’ve done. I knew I had lots of work to do especially it being my first no Gi tournaments. I couldn’t do it without my team, the homies opening up their bjj gyms to me, my girls, @caguirre79 for getting me in the best shape I’ve ever been in, @cascaojiujitsu for giving me a good foundation of grit and resilience, my main training partners, and lastly to my rock, my ride or die, @englejiujitsu who believes in me, sometimes more then I believe in myself. I am so happy that we get to live this life together and witness what we have build together. Big props to @nancy_v_foto for capturing these moments by @mylene_bjj

Happy Father’s Day! Thanks for being the glue that holds this family together. So much to be thankful for, especially for taking out the trash, and always wanting to cook for me just so I can relax. Also, love how you somehow turn every bathroom break into a 30-minute vacation. 😂 Your dad jokes may be terrible, but your heart is one of a kind. You are always willing to help anyone who needs it, never expecting anything in return. You just give your time, energy…the energy that’s left in you (fueled by monsters) But that’s just because that’s who you are. Thank you for being so selfless, supportive, and always putting your family first. You’re a great dad, always making sure I’m ok and happy.
