Heyyy guys 😁

This is obviously a new account so I am talking to myself right now , but that’s okay 😂

ANYWAYSSSS … Let me introduce myself! My name is Calyn ( everyone calls me Cayy ) , I am 20 years old and a Junior in college !

I made this page for fun because I really love my hair and believe it deserves its own page .

I have been natural majority of my life . Since I was little my hair was veryyyy thick and I had a lot of hair . My mom would have to buy my hair stylist new combs and brushes bc my hair would break them . It would take about 5+ hours just to get my hair washed and pressed out . My mom got tired of that and put a perm in my hair . Now lil ole me didn’t know how to take care of a perm and my hair broke off … stupid perm gave me an unwanted hair cut . So I cut it all off !

7th grade me had to where braids no stop the whole year because I was so insecure about my hair . So I went natural ( if y’all wanna see pics from before lmk …. actually I might do it anyways) , anyways I have been natural ever since . Learning how to take care of my hair and trying everything to keep it healthy. YALL I HAD TOO MUCH HAIR I WAS SOO OVER IT !!
so after freshman year ended ( spring 2021) I came home . Fell into a depression and loc’d my hair myself. These are the pictures from the time . I know I didn’t do a good job don’t drag me . I was loc’d all summer , and I was loving it .

Sadly when I got back to school (fall 2021) my depression came back and I combed them out and dyed my hair red . I knowwww what y’all are thinking , I did say I was depressed. So clearly I wasn’t thinking straight.

I always knew I would get them back but I didn’t know when and I didn’t know who I wanted to go to . I knew I wanted them professionally put in .

Okay ik I been gone for a few months ! I got my hair done for my birthday (in January, I basically did the miracle mermaid w.e you call em on my locs ) and I was gunna show yall but come to find out that I don’t have any videos or pics from when it was FRESHH ( I Need to get em from Ryan ) buttt I just got my hair done again after like 3-4 months for Cardi B and look how much my hair has grownnn! Now given I do have hair dysmorphia so even tho everyone tells me it looks like a lot idk I just don’t see it for real but I’m very much obsessed with my hair ! I am 4 years I think loc’d and can clearly see how amazingly beautiful my hair has become and I am so blessed 🥰 #locupdate #locstylesforwomen #locs by @mylocdlyfe

ALMOST TITTY LENGTH 😏😝‼️
Today was a GREAT hair day !! I really do have Hair dysmorphia and so it really wasn’t til TODAY that I actually felt like my hair was getting ‘long’. I got soo many compliments today and this hair is DIRTY asf so I was surprised honestly!
PLEASEEE IGNORE THE WORK SHIRT! I needed the pics before I wash my ass ! 😂
Oh and ik I say this everytime but I really will be getting rid of this swamp green soon !!! Blame the economy!

So I did it bc I was trying to be cute and ask you but since you wanna be funny then boom .. to my surprise it was actually really cute and I wore it out the whole day !

THIS IS GOING TO HURTTTTT SM DURING MY RETWIST! I can hear her pulling them apart now 😖
This is my mane after a 3 week braid down and omg do I need major maintenance!!! A COLOR REFRESH! so needed i am not supposed to be green bro ! idk if a super moisturizing treatment is a thing but Imma find it !
I was gunna try and thug the braid out atleast a few more weeks but my locs have change dramatically since last year and I’ve come to realize that I just can’t weird wings like that anymore, At least not those ( out with the old and in with the new , basically 😭. )
I love my locs in this state , no product or style fr just out ! I know I need to do a lot to them to help them flourished but I think my hair enjoys times where i keep my hands to myself 😂.

It’s that szn where i feel the PERSONAL need to give my locs a break . This is the wig of the week and y’all @touchedbyryan did her thing per usual!! This wig is 2+ years old , has been wore twice prior to this . Has been dyed red once before and dropped in the ocean . Finally to be put into a bag in the back of my closet for me to finally come back to it years later and it look like it was just made ! ( This wig was not bought but made by my sister, all details on the hair have been lost it been a long time !! ) This wig is also balding shhhh omg
I do not know how long this finna last bc it’s only day 5 and my locs are screaming !!! This is a glueless closure wig and i take it off to oil and moisture my hair which works until i put it back on . 😭 Once I put a wig on all hell breaks loose and my locs start going crazy !! idk how to stop the itching and uncomfortable feeling other than putting oil & water on them .
I do this every year but this year my scalp is screaming for help and I don’t know what oil I need but I need it NOW !! What oil do y’all use ? I use/ have used rose mary before , jaboba ( definitely spelled wrong) , tea tree , peppermint , and black castor !

My locs are getting so thick and they grow so fast . My retwist don’t even last as long as they used to and we haven’t changed a thing . I am in a limbo with styles , I do the same ones over and over . I’m lazy yall that’s why i have locs 😖 but i have a goal to do more and be more active with my hair ! It’s just y’all my hair can’t take a ponytail for more than 30 minutes then they screaming to be free. ( not my mirror btw ) Y’all locs like styles ? mine don’t!!
