Today marks the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. We remember the 1.5 million Armenians who were systematically killed at the hands of the Ottoman Empire.

These photos are not just places — they are pieces of our history. Some still stand. Some are now under occupation.
Some have been completely erased.

This is not distant history. It lives in us — in our families, our stories, our identity. And seeing what remains, and what’s been lost, is a reminder that memory itself is under threat.

Last week, I stood with Armenian Americans from across the country, all carrying that same history. This work is not abstract. It is personal.

We owe it to those who came before us — not just to remember, but to act. To protect what remains, to speak the truth clearly, and to ensure it is never denied, never erased, and never repeated.

We remember. And we must do better. by @myrymdc
