I am delighted to share my ribbon winning paintings from the professional division of the art competition at the California Mid-Winter Fair and Fiesta. 4 out of the 5 paintings I entered placed with awards. I am so happy to have won a first place ribbon for "Kitty Picard's Starry Night" in the animal category. My 1st and 2nd place winning paintings will be featured at the Pioneers' Museum after the Fair is over, for a special ribbon winning art exhibit. Keep an eye out for updates! Let me know if you are interested in purchasing any of these original acrylic paintings, or to commission your own pet portrait with a Van Gogh inspired background (like the portrait of my cat). I take commissions on a sliding scale based on size and level of complexity/detail. Thank you for your continued support and interest in my work! taken in California Mid-Winter Fair and Fiesta by @mystic.lizzy

Can I get a bravo for Ricardo?! This was my 13 year old art student's first ever portrait, painted in only 2 hours with acrylic paint! It was an awesome @le_studio.class Le Studio Art Class last night. I taught him about Frida Kahlo and then we created a simplified version of one of my lauded original portraits of Frida. He learned several painting fundamentals during class: Following and cutting in around details, shading, contouring, precision detail brush strokes, continued practicing blending and expressed himself with abstract painting techniques. Way to go kiddo! As a reminder: I work with art students of all ages and abilities. No experience is ever required. I provide all materials. Basic Level Art Classes are always $35. I am taking my classes to the Michaels classroom. I have a website linked to my profile where you can view my schedule and register for classes. I work with homeschool students. I am registered as a SDRC Vendor. Comment below for more information! Se habla Español! Thank you, as always for supporting my small business! #lestudioartclasses #elizabethmibarra #lestudioartclasseswithsass #imperialvalley #artclasses taken in El Centro, California by @mystic.lizzy

Last week's @le_studio.class Le Studio Art Classes with my student Richardo. We had a great time painting an adorable owl with acrylic paints as well as an expressive fall themed watercolor composition. Ricardo did a wonderful job with both compositions. This beginner has learned so much in just a few classes with me. He's a natural! Keep an eye out for more class updates! Be sure to visit my website to join us during my upcoming classes, which I am instructing as a private contractor in the Michaels El Centro classroom. Be sure to contact me directly; as my classes are unaffiliated with the store itself. "A Memory of Hildy Carrillo" ©️ by Elizabeth M. Ibarra, 2026. Acrylic on 11"x14" Canvas. I painted this portrait in memory of the late, great, Hildy Carrillo. She was a trailblazer, a groovy artist, a community advocate, Executive Director of the Calexico Chamber of Commerce, an authentic, sassy, generous and inspiring woman. She was beloved among her family and friends. She was a true friend to us. I call her my "Fairy Art-Mother". I will always be grateful for the impact she had in our lives; welcoming us into the local arts community as though we were family. We have so many memories with Hildy to treasure. The background of this painting reflects the Lava Lamp Awards; an annual award ceremony created by Hildy. I will always remember her zest for life, how she championed others and her genuine, witty sense of humor. She had her arm around my shoulder in the reference photo I used for this painting; taken at the Black and White Art exhibition, 2014. Now she has joined iconic female artists who passed on before her; including her favorite, Frida Kahlo. Be outrageously groovy in the eternal realm, Hildy! #elizabethmibarra #mermaidinthedesert🧜🏻‍♀️🌵 #hildycarrillo #portraitartist #awardwinniningartist taken in El Centro, California by @mystic.lizzy
