POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Beyond the surface lies the real story.
My work is deeply rooted in exploring human identity, spirit, and the unseen dimensions of our experiences. The signature sculptural eyebrows in my figures aren’t just aesthetic they represent oju inu, the inner eye, intuition, and a deeper kind of sight.
Realism meets conceptual abstraction to reflect how we feel, perceive, and exist beyond the physical. 🎨
Grateful for the journey and the continuous growth.

MICRONS EXHIBITION ARTIST: SEGUN AJAO

@mystro_artz

Segun Ajao us a Nigeria visual artist whose work centers on human figures, Uniquely characterized by abstract, sculpture-like eyebrows a symbolic feature that has become the hallmark of his style. These abstract forms represent a deeper kind of slight: the internal gaze, intuition, and emotional perception drawing inspiration from African identity, contemporary expression, and spiritual introspection, Segun fuses realism with conceptual abstraction.
His figure often appear mid-thought or mid-transition, capturing the tension between seen and unseen, voice and silence, flesh and form. Through his work, Segun invites the viewer into a quite dialogue with the self asking what we see when we look beyond the physical. His art has become not just a visual experience, but a mirror for self-reflection and personal truth.

Exhibition Opens: 30th April, 2026 by @mystroartz

What starts as a clear, effortless vision in the mind (ojú inú) begins to take physical form. Dreaming up the masterpiece is light work; dragging it out of the abstract and onto the canvas is where the real weight begins.

Title: Easy to Conceive, Heavy to Birth 🌻(I)
Medium: acrylic on canvas
Size: 30cm X 42cm
Yr:26

Imagining a grand vision inside the mind (ojú inú) is effortless and bright. But dragging that abstract dream into the physical world? That demands raw grit, heavy lifting, and relentless labor.

What dream are you grinding to bring to life right now? 👇
