The Colorado episode! While I was growing my coffee knowledge in Los Angeles, the Denver coffee scene was beginning to develop. I was surprised when I found so many new places in my hometown of Denver, Colorado. I didn’t grow up trying specialty coffee, and never ventured past Starbucks in high school. When I moved back last winter, I got to explore the coffee scene and made it my mission to try and experience as many as I could. I found that Denver is popping in the coffee scene, there’s so much to taste. The flavors and culture have gotten much more diverse than when I left in 2018. Now when I visit, it’s hard to choose which of my favorites I can make time for.

@onto_coffee - This is very new Japan style coffee shop in Lakewood. They truly brought Japan cafe style to Colorado. Their egg sandos, strawberry sandos, and Asian flavored coffee and matcha are unmatched. Through the decor and hospitality, it truly has the quiet coziness of Japanese culture. I recommend the banana matcha.
@humble_house_cafe - I found this place from Tik Tok. I felt like it was true Colorado coffee. They flow with the season, changing out not only their beverage flavors, but different food dishes. Every item is delicious, and it has the small town charm of Golden, CO.
@homeaway- Best kept secret downtown. This is the best place to hang out, and the baristas and cool and passionate. Whenever I stay downtown, I have to find my way here and get an iced latte with almond cold foam.
@moonflowercoffee.co - this place is located near my favorite place to run in Denver, Sloan Lake. I stopped here after a run and was charmed by the Ube Cap. They pour some beautiful art, and clearly care about customer experience.
@sweetbloomcoffee - this place gets an obvious mention as probably the most well known roasters in Colorado. If you're serious about espresso, this is it!
@lostcoffee- blocks from my high school, I was blown away when I found a specialty roaster in my backyard. I tried their seasonal black sesame latte on a summer day, and ended up getting to work here and pour into my passion at home. Their seasonal creations keep my childlike excitement alive. surprise!!! I’m starting a coffee cart! Such a special day to debut on set for my talented and amazing friends @nostorageproductions

still in the process of locking in my name and concrete menu, but getting to espresso myself with these drinks (Lel) truly feels right. I want to create drinks that highlight the coffee and matcha while incorporating flavors that remind me of my Asian roots. I named my first drink after my grandma, Ki Soon, who taught me that love can be felt and shared through cooking and eating! by @mysweetespresso

Want to start by saying growing up I could never draw or paint to save my life. Art class has always been the worst class because I always feel like I’m bad at everything that others seem to be naturally great at. When I started making coffee, all I became obsessed with latte art. I watched videos non stop and was so so frustrated that I couldn’t do it, like at all. When I went to blue bottle they taught me how to correctly steam my milk, and how to do a basic heart. I knew I was capable of learning. I saw alll the other baristas come in and start throwing stacks a couple of months in and I felt so frustrated that I was trying so hard and was so mediocre. Now, it’s been years and I’m just now starting to feel like I’m adequate. Guys, I have SO far to go. But seeing this progression makes me happy 🙂‍↕️ by @mysweetespresso

Koreans aren’t afraid of sugar. It’s so apparent walking around Seoul that sugar is everywhereeeee. Before cream tops were a staple menu item in the US, they were all over Korea. So while it’s always easy to find a sweet sweet cup of coffee, I’m more charmed by the little details in presentation and immense care put into it.

Every single shop calls you in. Not by being loud or fancy, but by being cute! The hospitality in Korea is apparent in everything you look at. You can see it in the matching dishes and clear aesthetic. Everything is sweet and stylish. It’s Seoul style, and it creates a sensation that makes you forget about the beans and focus on the feeling. You FEEL taken care of, you feel like every single thing you get to enjoy has been hand picked and hand crafted. It’s like you stepped into your grandmas house and she can’t wait to feed you. It’s the homiest of cafes. You will find yourself feeling a little warmer inside even just after checking out at a 7/11. 🇰🇷🫰alright fine, especially after a 7/11. taken in Seoul, Korea by @mysweetespresso

Cafe culture has been what drove my passion for coffee from “this tastes good” to “this can change lives”. I started working in coffee because whenever I decided to treat myself to a coffee somewhere, it was a special day! Blue Bottle gave me to opportunity to gift every single person that experience. Every drink I made, I wanted to make it as if that person was choosing this one day and this one coffee shop to really treat themselves, and what a privilege it is to have the power to give them that experience. This series is about how different cultures SERVE coffee. And in starting off in the greatest to ever do it, with the most unique style of serving… ITALY🇮🇹

Watching Italians make coffee is like watching NASCAR tire changers. You have to fight your way to the front, and when you finally make eye contact your order has to be quick and loud or they move to the next person. I practiced my order in my head over and over before getting to the front. They pull shots all day like they’re flipping patties and when the time comes to pour the milk for a cappuccino, they dump it in with one swift motion. When you’re used to delicate pours, this can seem like no care at all. Then they dust some cocoa powder on top, slam it down at you and yell “2 EURO!”

The Italian cappuccino is extremely dry, meaning the milk is extra frothy. It serves as a layer of sweet milk before the coffee hits your lips, especially with the cocoa powder. One taste and you don’t question their fast methods or aggressive demeanor, you’re simply lost in the experience.

I recently learned that the true cappuccino, adopted from Viennas “Kapuziner” came to Italy in 1901 with the invention of the espresso machine. Many cafes made it Vienna style, which was adding some whipped cream and cocoa powder on top. This was before the milk frother. When the time came, the whipped cream was replaced with the extra frothy film that sits on top. So now, when I get to drink one of these in Italy, I know I’m in the cappuccino Mecca, I’m watching masters at work, and sipping on history. taken in Italy by @mysweetespresso

my love for peaches runs deep. going way back to my childhood nickname to the symbol of my favorite film, there isn’t a fruit I love more! When I started mixing peaches with coffee, I was more than happy that they went amazing together.

when you blend together the fresh juiciness of a peach with the warm punch of coffee, it tastes like home 🍃 looking to create a peach flavored drink, but it’s hard to beat the crunch of biting into a fresh peach! by @mysweetespresso

Hii welcome to my little happy place

This account is my love letter to coffee. I love everything about coffee. I love the way it makes my day stop every time I drink it, I love the way it brings people together, I love the way serving it with intention makes others feel cared about, I love the way I can taste deeper the more I learn, and I love the way it keeps me exploring!

My favorite thing in the world is finding memorable cafes while traveling so I wanted to kick off this account with what I can recall as my absolute best of the best coffee I’ve had in different cities. These are all places that came to mind without thinking. Mostly because they’re delicious, but also the care that went into each of these. I can’t wait to see how this account helps me to learn and connect but for now, I get to put all this joy into one place 🫶 by @mysweetespresso
