Introducing the newest member of team @h2oxtream ! 🐧 A big welcome to their lifeguard penguin plushie, who you’ll see at reception and around the facility, reminding us all that water safety always comes first. But they need your help: Their penguin friend doesn’t have a name yet. To help them choose a name, They're running a naming and colouring-in competition for kids and teens up to 15 years. 😊 Here’s how to take part • Pick up the entry template from @h2oxtream reception on your next visit. • Drop off your completed entry by Sunday, 18 October 2026. • They will shortlist 5 entries for public voting, running 22-30 October 2026. • The winner will be announced on Friday, 6 November 2026. The winning entry will become the name of our limited-edition penguin toy and the winner will also receive a goody prize bag. Once their penguin has received its name, they will have a limited-edition release of penguin toys available to buy on site. by @myupperhutt

Meet the family behind Bikaner Upper Hutt. Having successfully run Bikaner Petone, they've now opened a second location right here in Upper Hutt, a place they've proudly called home since 2002. Their menu is packed with flavour, offering 100% vegetarian, vegan and onion/garlic free Indian cuisine that's anything but ordinary. If you're a lifelong vegetarian or looking to try something new, or even just simply chasing a great meal with friends or family, Bikaner is set to bring a fresh new dining experience to Upper Hutt. A fresh look for a Upper Hutt institution 👀🌿 You might have noticed some new signage going up at @dwightsoutdoors on Fergusson Drive! Founded right here in Upper Hutt in 1979, Dwights is a family business that has now spanned three generations, helping locals gear up for camping trips, adventures and everything in between for more than four decades. 🏕️🥾 The signage might be new, but the family, the expertise and the commitment to getting Kiwis outdoors remain the same. From tents and hiking gear to clothing, camping essentials and plenty of advice from people who know their stuff, Dwights has been a familiar part of Upper Hutt for generations. Meet Euan, the man behind Blend Bar & Bistro. 🍽️ For Euan, hospitality isn't just a job, it's something he's been doing for most of his life. Growing up in Upper Hutt, working some of his first jobs here, and spending the past 28 years in hospitality, he's always had a knack for bringing people together and making sure everyone has a good time. Since opening Blend in 2022, Euan has turned the old Porterhouse Blues into a warm, welcoming venue built around looking after people through food, service and keeping the fun going. There's plenty happening at Blend right now, with a brand-new menu, new weekly specials and a new small function space. It's also family-friendly, with a pinball machine and cocktail arcade game to keep the kids entertained while the grown-ups enjoy themselves. And Euan's passion for bringing people joy doesn't stop at the restaurant. He's previously put on some seriously impressive Christmas light displays and, for the past two years, has opened Blend on Christmas Day to host a free community lunch for anyone who might otherwise spend the day alone.
