We are so pumped to share our latest collab with you for Whittle Springs Middle School!

This work is meant to highlight the diversity as well at the programming the school has to offer while adding a playfulness and whimsy.

Each scene showcases a different element of learning, sports, music, stem, etc

🌸🎨 Knoxville just got a little wilder!

Local artist Gared Luquet has completed a stunning new mural in the alley near Market Square with Dogwood Arts. This vibrant piece celebrates what Zoo Knoxville means to our community — a place where wonder, conservation, and connection with wildlife come alive.

The mural highlights some of the incredible animals you can meet at the zoo, from familiar favorites to rare species you won’t find anywhere else in East Tennessee. 🐾

Next time you’re downtown, take a stroll by the mural, snap a photo, and celebrate the wild side of Knoxville! 🦒🐅🐒

I painted Memphis and had a blast!

🦎 🍹My frilled lizard with a sun reflector titled “I Said No Salt!” has been an idea I’ve wanted to paint for couple years and I am thankful to @paint_memphis for this opportunity to paint it along side so many great murals.

Meet @mywildmurals, one of our featured artists for Paint Memphis 2026!✨ Read on to learn more about this artist! ⬇️

"Gared Luquet is a Knoxville-based muralist, the owner of My Wild Murals, and has been making art professionally for more than 20 years. Originally from Walnut Creek, California, his artistic career began at Pepperdine University, where he earned a scholarship to study painting. After graduating, he returned to the Bay Area and joined The Hive studio, where he developed a diverse body of abstract work that was displayed at several solo exhibitions.

Focused on expanding his portfolio and experience, Luquet moved to Los Angeles and joined Keystone Art Space. Over the following decade, Luquet’s style evolved from abstract pieces to large-scale, realistic wildlife paintings with playful nods to traditional portraiture, blending surreal elements with classical compositions and often incorporating a subtle touch of irony. These large-scale acrylic works move beyond conventional wildlife art, using an anthropomorphic lens to highlight the emotional parallels shared between humans and animals in the modern world.

In 2023, when his spouse began a faculty position at the University of Tennessee, Luquet moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. The city’s rich history and strong emphasis on the arts and the region’s beautiful wildlife have since become a new source of inspiration. The move reignited his passion for creating large-scale murals and helped shape the vision behind My Wild Murals, where he now focuses on transforming local spaces into vibrant, nature-filled experiences for the community."

I brought the German Autobahn to Knoxville! 🇩🇪🏁

Race over to @eurotechknoxville on Oak Ridge Highway to check out the new mural and photograph your car in front of Knoxville’s newest stretch of the Autobahn. 🚗 💨

The idea behind this mural was to create a backdrop where car lovers could pull up, snap a photo, and show off their ride.

Using photos from my visits to Zoo Knoxville along with images from the Zoo’s archive, I created this mural in Strong Alley, set in the tiger temple where a group of unexpected friends are hanging out, relaxed and enjoying each other’s company. All hail King Toot (aka Snowball) 🐾 👑

I’m incredibly grateful and honored to have been selected to participate in the first annual Dogwood Arts Mural & Music Festival, and be selected as one of the two people’s choice winners alongside @rogue.murals

A huge thank you to @dogwoodarts , the sponsors, volunteers, fellow muralists and everyone who came out to support and vote. It was inspiring to spend the day surrounded by so much creativity and talent.

I was so happy to paint my kitty cat Snowball @snowy.chai as a sphinx and I’m excited for what’s ahead and thankful for the opportunity to continue bringing more art to Knoxville.

I had the best time painting this postcard inspired mural near the Rhino Reserve at @zooknoxville .
