The 6-week immunisation is a milestone many new parents feel anxious about. Watching Lotanna get those injections wasn’t easy, but knowing we’re taking an important step towards protecting him makes it worthwhile🥹💙

Here are a few things every parent should know after their baby’s vaccination:

1. Comfort your baby. Cuddles, skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding can help soothe them.
2. Expect mild reactions. Fussiness, sleepiness, mild fever or soreness around the injection site may occur temporarily.
3. Monitor their temperature. For babies under 3 months, a temperature of 38°C or higher requires urgent medical assessment, even after vaccination.
4. Soothe the injection site. A clean, cool, damp cloth can help relieve soreness. Avoid direct ice or vigorous rubbing.
5. Use medication wisely. Give paracetamol only as advised by your healthcare professional, using the correct dose for your baby.
6. Keep them comfortable. Continue normal feeds, dress them in light clothing and allow them to rest. Bathing can continue as usual if your baby is comfortable.

🚨 When to seek help: Difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, seizures, unusual unresponsiveness or a fever of 38°C or higher require urgent medical attention.

Every baby responds differently, so always follow your healthcare professional’s advice.

A big thank you to @atlantispediatrichospital for being part of our little boy’s healthcare journey💙

Save this for your baby’s immunisation day and share it with another new parent! 🫶🏽

My precious boy, I cannot promise that life will always be easy. But I pray that you will always know you are loved, that you will never walk without God’s guidance, and that you will always have a home in your father’s and mother’s hearts.

One day, you will outgrow these tiny clothes. Your little hands will become big hands, and your feet will carry you to places I can only dream of today.

Perhaps one day, you will no longer need me to carry you. But I never want you to wonder whether you were wanted, whether you were prayed for, or whether your coming into this world mattered.

You were wanted. You were prayed for. You were loved before we knew your face. And you will be loved long after you no longer fit in my arms. 🤍

One month down, my whole life of loving you ahead of me.

Happy one month on earth, my son. My little light. My answered prayer. My Lotanna Samuel Mbakwem💙

May your life always remind you of the Father who gave you to us.

Mummy loves you beyond every word I could ever write. Daddy does too. And no matter how big you grow, a part of my heart will always remember you exactly as you are today, my tiny boy, resting against me, making this whole world feel like a miracle.

Before we knew your face, we knew you by faith. And now that we know your face, we will spend a lifetime thanking God for you🤍🙏🏽

A little throwback to the days I carried you beneath my heart🤍🥹

Five days from now, I’ll be one month into motherhood, and honestly, it still feels surreal.

How did the little human I carried, prayed for, dreamed about and loved without ever seeing his face become the little boy I now get to hold in my arms every day?

Looking at these pictures feels different now. Back then, I was carrying a beautiful promise. Today, I get to hold the fulfilment of that promise.

If only I could go back and tell this version of me how beautiful the other side would be.

The kicks, the waiting, the prayers, the anticipation… I would live it all over again just to meet you all over again.

Before I knew your face, I knew you by faith. And now, I get to love you in ways words will never fully explain🤍
My pregnancy era.
My answered prayer.
My Lotanna💙

On the 8th of August, we stood before God once again, surrounded by love, gratitude and the beautiful promise of forever. 🤍

But this time, there was a little more love in that room… a little more joy in our hearts… and a tiny blessing quietly sharing in one of the most beautiful days of our lives. 🥹

Looking back at these moments now, I realise just how much God was writing into our story that day.

What a gift it was to receive God’s blessing as husband and wife, while carrying a blessing of our own. 🤍

8.08.2026 — a day we will forever hold close to our hearts.

God, You have been so faithful🥹🙏🏽🤍

Plot twist: We’re becoming three🤍👶🏽

#thembakwemaffair by @mz_berryl

Today, I turn 29.
The last birthday I ever celebrate as a single woman.
The first I welcome as a wife.

If you told the version of me from 2023.the one learning how to survive, how to trust again, how to love herself in the middle of unanswered questions that this would be her story… I would have smiled through tears and whispered “God, really?”

This year didn’t arrive gently.
It came with stretching. With surrender. With becoming.
It came with building a home from prayer, choosing love with intention, and watching God rewrite chapters I once thought were closed forever.

I look at my life now and I’m in awe of God’s tenderness.
Not the loud kind , the quiet mercy.
The kind that holds you when you don’t even realize you’re being carried.
The kind that answers prayers you didn’t know how to pray out loud.

Who am I that He is mindful of me?
That He saw me, healed me, prepared me… and then trusted me with love, with marriage, with new beginnings, all in one breath?

29 feels sacred.
Not because everything is perfect. but because I am kept.
Covered. Loved. Chosen.

On this birthday, I don’t ask for much.
I simply stand in gratitude.
For the woman I was.
For the woman I am becoming.
For the God who never left the room.

Happy Birthday to me.
Berry 🤍
A testimony in motion. by @mz_berryl

We planned our traditional to be simple.Just family, just home, just hearts coming together. But somehow, love travelled. People showed up. From near and far. Unexpectedly. Intentionally. Carrying prayers, laughter, joy, and so much warmth. In that moment, I realized that when something is truly ordained, it gathers witnesses without announcement.

My bride price was paid in full! not as a mere custom, but as honor, value, and commitment. And when I danced, I danced like I never had before. Not for the crowd. Not for the cameras. I danced because gratitude overflowed. My body spoke what my words couldn’t. Everyone there can testify that dance came from a place deeper than celebration. It came from deep joy.

That day was not just tradition. It was more than a ceremony. It was legacy unfolding. Families becoming one. Culture standing proud and being preserved. Love taking root the right way.
Ihe Chukwu kere, mmadu apughi ikewa ya.

Two weeks later, the emotions are still fresh, the memories still heavy on my heart.
Still overwhelmed. Still thankful.

This was exceptionally beautiful.
This was love done right.
This was God. From start to finish.

One month ago, we stood before God, our families, and love itself and said yes.
Yes to choosing each other daily.
Yes to growth, patience, learning, and grace.

This first month has already taught us that marriage is not just a moment, but a posture of the heart.a quiet commitment to show up, to listen, to pray, and to love intentionally. We have seen God in the small things, felt His peace settle in our home, and experienced a covering we can’t fully explain.

It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t elaborate.
But it was sacred.
A beginning marked by whispered prayers, steady faith, and trust in the journey ahead.

Marriage is being built daily in patience, in laughter, in grace, and in choosing unity even in the ordinary moments.

One month in, and our hearts are still full.
Still grateful. Still humbled. Still in awe.

Here’s to the beginning of forever rooted in faith, sealed in love, and guided by God 🤍
Thank You, Lord, for writing our story.
