After an incredibly busy 18 months, and in recognition of our team’s hard work and commitment under challenging circumstances, MZA is having a full company shutdown over Christmas this year, giving everyone an additional 5 days paid leave which will enable them to switch off fully from the workplace and take some quality time for themselves.
This means that our offices will be closed from 5pm on Friday 17th December until Tuesday 4th January 2022, and emails will not be monitored during this time.
Our clients and the project teams we are working with have been made aware of this and will know who to contact in case of a genuine emergency. #worklifebalance #team #downtime by @mzaconsult

We take great pride in the designs we develop for all our projects, but when one of those projects is crowned the AJ100 Building of the Year, we couldn’t be prouder! The Plumstead Centre project, commissioned by the Royal Borough of Greenwich, saw the 1903-built Grade II-listed Plumstead Library, one of the original Carnegie-funded public libraries, transformed into a new social destination for the local community, with accessibility for all.

MZA was appointed as part of the RIBA Stage 4 design team to deliver the MEP and Acoustic designs.

Maxwell joined MZA in September 2020, working remotely from day 1. Despite the challenges around this, he has become a valued member of the team and, in recognition of his development and contribution, has been promoted to Principal Mechanical Engineer. Congratulations Maxwell! by @mzaconsult

A great start to the week, congratulating two members of our team and recognising their efforts, contribution and development. Georgie Wood is promoted to Senior Electrical Engineer and Durgesh Chadee is now an Associate Director. We’re delighted for you both - well deserved! #congratulations #designengineers by @mzaconsult

This has been a challenging year for so many, both personally and professionally, for so many reasons, and it’s certainly not the one any of us envisaged. As 2020 draws to a close, as a business, we are thankful that we have been able to continue working on the majority of our existing projects as well as starting on some exciting new schemes. We have also recently welcomed five new engineers to the MZA team and have enjoyed getting to know them, albeit remotely.

We would like to thank our clients, suppliers, collaborators and followers for their continued support and wish everyone a healthy and peaceful 2021. Let’s hope it’s a better year for everybody. by @mzaconsult

Today is our final visit of the year to HMP Five Wells, Wellingborough, and it’s great to see our #MEP designs coming to life. The project has already won numerous awards and we are delighted to be part of the integrated design team working with @kiergroup & @pickeverard by @mzaconsult

We’re delighted to be congratulating two more of our engineers this week as Georgie and Maxwell are now officially #CharteredEngineers! Well done to you both on this fantastic achievement! #mzateam @theiet @imecheteam by @mzaconsult

The first few weeks in a new company can be daunting at the best of times; meeting your colleagues for the first time, understanding the systems and procedures and getting to grips with a new role. But imagine doing all of this remotely, possibly from your kitchen table, in the current climate! Our four newest team members have coped admirably with this challenge as they settle in to their new positions here at MZA. After a brief induction, they were up and running, helping us kick off a major new project. Welcome to the team Maxwell Ikin (Senior Mechanical Engineer), Alex Kissack (Mechanical Engineer), Roma Prychidko (Public Health Engineer) and Jonny Warren (Electrical Engineer) – we’re delighted to have you on board!

Tomorrow is #worldmentalhealthday2020. It’s been a tough year, so take time to think about one thing you can do for your mental health. For some, it might simply mean going for a walk; for others it might be taking the first steps to getting support for themselves. #DoOneThing. @the_depression_chronicles11 by @mzaconsult

Congratulating three of our #engineers on their recent achievements! Paul and Joe are officially #charteredengineers - CEng MCIBSE and CEng MIET respectively - and Tom is now #MCIBSE. The hard work has paid off - well done! #mzateam @theiet @cibse by @mzaconsult

As we continue the week with our “new normal”, take some time to call someone you’ve not heard from in a while, check in with your furloughed staff or simply take some time for yourself. Many people are having up and down days during this strange time - that call could really help someone if they’re feeling a bit overwhelmed. #mentalhealthawareness #kindness by @mzaconsult
