🕊 Kev, My dearest soul sister ✨:

It’s taken me weeks to put this into words. The sting of this is almost unbearable but I’m grateful that you are no longer in pain. I was angry at God for taking you so soon, and especially when we literally just spoke only a few short hours before hearing the news of your passing. Why you sis?? I just knew you had so much more life to live and love to give. We were just talking about our future plans! But in the same breath, I had to thank God for creating such a beautiful shining light that inspired others (often in the midst of her own struggles) and sharing you with us for a short while.

Who would have thought that all those years ago, when I used to spend my lunch break with you (ok, I used to hide in your room 🙈), that we’d actually become friends and then sisters. I mean we knew of each other before, but we became each other’s safe space from then. Such an unconventional start to a friendship but we saw each others truest self from jump. Your light was radiant and ever present- something that only God could give. Though we didn’t see each other that often (funny because we lived so close) we spoke pretty much daily, sharing beauty tips, progress pics, advice, prayers and words of encouragement etc . We made it a point to let each other know how much we meant to each other every time we spoke- almost always ending with an “I love you”. And that I truly did sissy! Like we always knew when the other was having a bad day or wasn’t feeling their best, prayed for each other, and then were cracking up at some foolishness the next minute.

I will forever cherish our times together, the constant laughs, and the memories.

Sis , I am proud of you and your fight, and am glad that you can finally rest in our Savior’s arms. You have fulfilled your purpose and I can only hope to do the same myself.

Until we meet again, I love you Kevina Johnaé Lilian, my angel. 😇
