Cake was smushed in my face,

Tabéa made Persian shortbread,
Yas brought Moroccan mint,

A new artwork has joined the Croyds collection, and with it, a new way of seeing. For @negsdoesartstuff artwork Hard Cradle Soft Edges, we stepped away from the traditional studio visit and instead staged an editorial shoot with photographer @belshotdis , bringing depth and focus to both the piece and the artist behind it.

The controlled setting allowed us to emphasize the textures, scale, and depth of this 4 x 6 composition, while also capturing moments of Negar in conversation with her creation a rare glimpse into the dialogue between artist and artwork.

This shoot is a new addition to how we share our collection, expanding the ways we tell the stories of small works and the artists who create them.

About the Artist

Negar Sahebalzamani is an Iranian immigrant artist whose practice weaves together personal and collective histories. Through figurative portraits and self-portraits, she explores resilience, resistance, and the complexities of diaspora. She is currently completing her BFA in Studio Arts with a Minor in Art History at Concordia University. by @n.3gar
