When I started running consistently back in 2022, it was out of desperation. The funny thing no one tells you about becoming a parent/birthing a human, is that you fundamentally have to break in order to re-emerge as the person you need to become. So, I just walked out my front door, and “Forrest Gump” style, I ran. To this day, I’m still running. Am I fast? Nah. Am I trying to get “skinny”? nah. Has that “consistency” made me into someone I’m proud of? Absolutely. So when this commercial audition came my way, it felt particularly real. It’s so cool to see it “in the flesh”. Anyone in the LA area want a FREE baby grand piano? Just needs a hammer adjustment and a tune. It’s a century old Wurlitzer and has served us well for 8 years. 🙂 by @n.f.dragon

Back in January, while on a playground hang at Pasadena’s pirate park, I was pushing Alice “more higher!” In the swings when my friend Sydney, pitched me the idea of running a marathon in April. While I had no aspirations of running on any time soon, for some utterly insane reason a voice from deep inside escaped my mouth with a “sure!”. “It’s mostly downhill” .. cool cool. I will start by saying that my training routine was probably the most bare bones I would recommend for anyone to attempt a marathon and call it an athletic endeavor. I generally ran 3-4 times per week and followed runs in the Nike Run Club app (free, and would highly recommend the guided runs!). 1/2 easyish run, 1 speed run, and 1 long run. Looking back on it, I should have logged more hours, but like, who has that kind of free time?! I set my goal to just “finish and not die.” Bonus points if I made it in sub 5 hours. Extra bonus points if I try to “enjoy” it. On April 28th, I ran that marathon- And y’all.. I DID IT! AND got the EXTRA bonus points. I ran 26.2 miles from Ojai Ca to Ventura with a time of 4:43 in the “Mountains to Beach” marathon. It was a lovely, inspiring, hard, long, tiring, thinking-all-the-thoughts-until-you- have- thought-them-all- and- have-no-more kinda thing. And now I get it. You discover some pretty neat things when you’re balancing on the ends of your sanity and comfort zone. (Special thanks to those that shared their thoughts/ prayer requests/good vibes- that made this run extra special) I also realized via the photos that I should maybe curl my fingers up or something so I don’t look like I’m just waving foam fingers around (be cool, Noelle, be cool). Long story short, if you’ve ever been curious to check this item off your bucketlist- I’m here to tell you, it is totally doable for us mere mortals. And you’ll learn a lot about yourself in the process. Shoutout to Sydney for challenging me to do this and Ashley for being my ride or die and the sister I never had ❤. Now, on to the next one? by @n.f.dragon
