I would be a completely different person if I didn’t come to Korea 3 years ago as an exchange student. That experience shaped me into the person I am today & kickstarted my love of traveling. I will be forever grateful that I was blessed with that opportunity. taken in Seoul, South Korea by @n.ylahhhhh

Dr. McLarren… Ph.D. loading…

I am beyond proud to announce that I will be joining the Texas Woman’s University Counseling Psychology PhD program this fall!

This journey was never just about the acceptance letter. It was the hard work, lab discussions, research posters, presentations, sleeping on tables in undergrad, crying, freaking out, taking a breath, praying, rejoicing in milestones, and somehow, finding the strength to keep pushing forward.

There were so many moments when I doubted myself, but I was constantly reminded that I did not get here alone. God, my family, my friends, and my mentors poured so much love, encouragement, wisdom, and belief into me. And when I couldn’t always see the light in myself, they breathed that light into me and lifted my spirits. For that, I am grateful beyond measure.

As a Black woman and first-generation college student, this moment means more to me than I can put into words. I’m carrying every sacrifice, every lesson, every person who believed in me, and every version of myself that refused to give up into this next chapter.

I’m excited to see what these next 6 years will bring.

Here’s to growing into the woman and the psychologist I’ve always been striving to become.

I will hold this moment near my heart. 💛 by @n.ylahhhhh

I’m so incredibly grateful to be in a position where I have friends across the world. Who would have thought that I would’ve met so many wonderful friends over the years & have kept it touch. It was amazing seeing everyone again! 🫶🏾 taken in Seoul, South Korea by @n.ylahhhhh
