Bands or more weight? 🤔 It’s the question every athlete asks. The honest answer is that neither one is better. What matters is which stimulus you need right now. 🅰️ BANDS: The resistance builds as you lift. That makes you produce force all the way to lockout and trains strength through a changing resistance profile. 🅱️ MORE WEIGHT: Higher absolute loading. This is how you build foundational strength and develop unilateral power from a stable setup. At N1 Motion we don’t guess. Every athlete’s program is built around where they are and where they need to go, so you get the right tool at the right time. That’s why families across the North Metro call us the best sports performance training in Minnesota. If you’ve been searching “athletic training near me” for hockey, football, basketball or soccer, stop scrolling. Spots are open now for sports performance training. 👉 Sign up at n1motion.com 📍 8376 89th Ave N, Brooklyn Park, MN, serving Maple Grove, Champlin and the North Metro #N1Motion #BeUnstoppable #GetInMotion #StayInMotion by @n1motion
SELL THE JAB. WIN THE STEP. 🏀💨 The jab step is all about creating separation by getting the defender to react. Pair it with a quick, explosive cut and a strong pass, and you’re building skills that translate directly to game situations. Focus on: Sell the jab: Make the defender believe you’re going that direction. Explode out of the cut: Push off aggressively and create separation. Time the pass: Develop coordination, timing, and decision-making with a teammate. Game-speed skills start with intentional reps. #n1motion #beunstoppable #jabstep #basketball #agility by @n1motion

Don’t underestimate plyometrics when it comes to speed development! Plyometrics train the body to produce force quickly by using explosive movements like jumps, hops, and bounds. They develop the stretch-shortening cycle, which is your body’s ability to rapidly transition from absorbing force to producing force. This is important for improving explosive power, acceleration, sprinting, and change of direction. The goal isn’t just to jump higher or farther. It’s to improve how quickly and efficiently you apply force into the ground. Want to get faster? Don’t just build strength — learn to apply it explosively. #Plyometrics #speedtraining #plyometricstraining #getfaster #n1motion by @n1motion
The Yuri is a movement we like to use in athletic development because it teaches athletes how to connect the foot, ankle, hip, and trunk to produce force. When performed with a band, the added resistance challenges the athlete to: - Drive through the ground - Create a strong foot-to-ground connection - Produce powerful hip extension - Coordinate hip extension with opposite-leg knee drive - Develop whole-body coordination A large part of developing speed is improving how well you can apply force into the ground and coordinate that force through the body. The Yuri is a great tool for reinforcing those qualities while building better movement awareness and athletic mechanics. #yuri #speed #power #sprinttraining #n1motion by @n1motion

Overcoming isometrics are a powerful tool for developing maximal force & strength, without relying on movement through a full range of motion. Driving into an unmovable object allows one to reach full power without having the risks of heavy weight or risky ranges of motion. But we don’t always just want to know if an athlete feels stronger. We want to measure it. Using force plates, we can track how much force an athlete produces and monitor changes in performance over time. Train with intent. Measure the output. Track the progress. Because what gets measured can be improved. #overcomingisometrics #isometrics #strength #forceplates #n1motion by @n1motion
Monday doesn’t care how your weekend went. The athletes who separate themselves aren’t waiting for the season to start. Speed, strength, and explosiveness built by coaches who hold you to a standard. Parents: if your athlete is serious about this year, the work starts now, not at tryouts. Monday doesn’t care how you feel. Neither does your opponent. While everyone else is easing into the week, you’ve got a choice to make: show up or fall behind. Fall season is here, and the athletes who get better right now are the ones who aren’t waiting for motivation to hit. They build habits that don’t need it.
