2025. If one verse encapsulates 2025 for me, it’s Romans 5:3-5:

“but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts.”

In 2025 I learned I can’t do it on my own, and I never could. Parenting. Building a business. Buying a house. Keeping in touch with people I love. Etc., etc.

I walked into 2025 hoping for growth, and it came through a considerable amount of suffering, despite a total lack of patience, but in the rearview I guess you can say we endured.

Most of my year has been navigating two kids under 3. Occasionally I go golf or get to see a friend or two, but for the most part it’s Hannah and I living life through diapers, fruity fruits, nap times and occasional nights out. That’s what life is right now, and that’s ok. I don’t read my Bible like I should. I keep God in the clouds, and I try to walk through it day by day on my own terms—and I hope I can change that in 2026.

Thank you, God, for your patience. Thank you Hannah for being my best friend and partner through it all, and thank you for all you taught me, 2025. by @n_paul30

December 20th. Call it bad luck. Call it a crazy coincidence. Call it Divine intervention. Call it an expensive Christmas. Call it anything.

Hannah and I were gifted with two beautiful girls in the Christmas season on the same day. December 20th.

One is shy and timid. The other is loud and makes her presence known. One is a mama’s girl. One seems to be for the boys. Both are full of joy. Both are perfect blends of Hannah and I.

I post the best parts of our journey as parents. As any parent knows, there’s a lot of really shitty parts too. Sometimes the best parts and the shittiest parts are sandwiched in the same day. The days—and often times the nights— are long, and the years are short. Sometimes I suck as a dad. Sometimes I feel like I’m Superman. Sometimes Hannah and I are soaring through life. Sometimes it feels like a struggle to get to 8pm.

But every time we come up on December 20th, I’m more and more thankful for the two little souls we’re raising every day. by @n_paul30
