CARNIVAL CATWALK EPISODE 7 | Mas Metamorphosis 🥷🏽🐛🦋

Our design challenge was to create a transformative, avant garde look, using one of the traditional carnival characters from Trinidad and Tobago.

I chose the Midnight Robber, one of the most widely recognized and well-liked traditional carnival characters known for its fearlessness and vengeance.

The Midnight Robber is a very powerful symbol of resistance and defiance, typically dressed in an elaborate costume that includes a long cape, a wide-brimmed hat, and a mask or face paint.

This character is also noted for "Robber Talk", a boastful speech of the robber's deeds, conquests, history, and various abilities, often approaching the supernatural.

19 students. 3 days. 1 mission. 🇩🇴

Being planted in the Dominican Republic, leading a Community Action Project with 19 incredible students, has been one of the greatest honors of my journey. I truly believe it is a divine appointment quietly waiting to unfold as part of a greater plan.

In collaboration with @planyaque we transformed Centro Educativo Hatillo in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic into a sustainable learning space. Together, the students painted three murals and 5 bins, created a hopscotch play area, and installed a creative garden fence, proving that a little imagination and a lot of teamwork can completely change a space.

Ultimately, investing in the beautification of this local school is an investment in education and community that creates an environment where sustainability becomes a shared value, and every student feels empowered to dream, create, and contribute 💚♻️

New Ink 🇩🇴

The most iconic greeting in the Dominican Republic. KLK comes from "Qué lo qué?" which can mean: "What's up?", "How are you?","What's good?". It's a way of saying, "I see you." As someone who loves connecting with people through culture and language, this tattoo represents the my love for DR, the warmth, and every KLK that made me feel welcome. Un chin de RD conmigo pa' siempre. 🇩🇴✨
