Our almost complete Foothill Road project in Ojai. The dormer window pulls in a steep hillside view from behind the home. Rough sawn doug fir ceilings. Thanks for your friendship and trust, M & S. Thanks for your wisdom, Peter. taken in Ojai, California by @nabiboyd

Sierra Road arrived to us as an aging 1970s house in Ojai. We proposed new site walls that reach off the house, pulling in existing landscape and creating semi-private gardens. Plan updates, new openings, an interior volume carved into the existing attic, but if you squint you can still see the original ranch-style form preserved. 2025, unbuilt. by @nabiboyd

A project we completed a little while back- a partial remodel to a 120-year-old cedar-shingled house in Carpinteria. The new design reorganizes a hodgepodge of previous additions and renovations and opens up the north side of the home to a view of the Santa Ynez Mountains. 📷 @caitlinatkinson_photography by @nabiboyd

We’re so excited to share that our Los Osos project won a 2021 NextLA award from the @aia_la 😊

From the jury:
“One reason this project is significant is its generational social structure. It speaks to new challenges in this society and finds beautiful ways to address them. Intergenerational living—living with extended family— is a new building typology that is being re-investigated. The need for privacy but also proximity to our beloveds encourages a strong emotional bond. The house is a gem regarding its understated yet poetic floor plan. The architects listened to their client and were able to create spatial architectural features from a few creative moves.”

Thanks to the jury and congrats to the other winners! by @nabiboyd
