Months in the making, and I finally present this, a testament to months of dedication

This project takes form through a collection titled Se Urai, consisting of one complete look and a developed textile sheet. It explores Tanimbar weaving through a neo-deconstructive approach, combining traditional motifs with contemporary elements.

Inspired by Manik, Lolohisi, Sair, and Tanimbar sculptures, the work uses devoré, hot textile, and sewing techniques to create a grunge, unfinished aesthetic in a warm, natural palette. At its core, Se Urai is a process of unraveling and reinterpreting cultural values, meanings, and identities, then reconstructing them into a more contemporary visual language without losing their essence.

Made this shoulder bag from my old pair of jeans that was rarely used. And i chose to turn it into a bag because i think bags in general is essential and i can use it in a long term!!! and as of right now, it is really trendy amongst people to decorate their own bags, so i made a charm to pair along with it. The charm’s hook is made out of my dad’s landyard that he hasn’t used in a while, the beads are recycled from my latest projects. For the tie, i used my grandfather’s, and the laces i just used the one that i found in my house!

Lovee the final look that it’s giving, i personally think it’s cute and unique, and with rework i feel like we can make whatever we want or we like!! it’s all worth the sweat because we will use it for a long term!!.. 🐆👜👖💋
