How many laser hair removal sessions do you actually need?

Ideally, a full course is around 8 to 12 sessions, and as we progress, the time between your appointments gets longer. So the entire process can take around a year to a year and a half.

But here’s what I see with my clients: even after just 3 sessions, many of them already notice around 70% hair reduction. And for some people, that’s already enough to feel very happy with their results.

If your goal is to get as close as possible to 100% hair reduction, expect around 8–12 sessions.

After that, there’s no strict schedule. You may need a maintenance session once a year, or simply once in a while when you notice you need it.

Everyone is different — hair density, thickness, hormones, treatment area, and skin type all matter.

Not everyone is a good candidate for laser hair removal.

Very light or very fine hair can be difficult for the laser to target because the laser relies on pigment in the hair.

But here’s the interesting part: sometimes even lighter hair has enough pigment to respond — and sometimes it doesn’t. That’s why, if I’m unsure, I prefer to test it first and see how your hair responds.

If you have a mix of dark and light hairs, laser may remove most of the darker ones while some lighter hairs remain. And then we decide together what makes sense next — continue with laser, switch to electrolysis for the remaining hairs, or simply stop if you’re happy with your results.

And no, you don’t need 100 sessions with me. 😄

I’ll never promise 100% removal in six sessions, but in my experience, six good treatments can already make a significant difference for the right candidate.

A little personal moment behind this new machine. 🤍

Professional aesthetic equipment has been part of my life for many years. My family’s medical spa in Kazakhstan has been operating for about 15 years, and I grew up around this industry, learning, working, and watching my parents build the business.

But assembling and setting up major equipment was usually something my dad handled.

While putting this machine together, I caught myself thinking how much I wished I could still call him and ask for his advice.

This time, I had to figure it out myself.

And I did.

The machine is assembled, tested, and officially ready for work.

This week we’ll begin filming treatments, and very soon I’ll start showing you the different functions of this device and how I’ll be using them in my customized facials at Nauma Skin & Laser Studio.
