I photographed @frederikbillebrahe ‘s new book ‘Apollo: State-of-the-art cooking and a party’ created with and published by @apartamentomagazine. Frederik is a very dear friend and @apollo_bar is a very special place to me. I had some of the best dinners there, crazy parties, so many memories, it’s love, it’s friendship and Friday we celebrate. Come by if you’re in town.

ADVANTAGE LEO! New story out for @racquetmag photographed in Rome during @internazionalibnlditalia and the election of @pontifex

“Photographer Nikolaj Møller was in two of the right places—the Italian Open and St. Peter’s Square—at exactly the right time, and dispatched a postcard from Rome’s Foro Italico and papal conclave for Racquet.”

I found myself in Rome photographing tennis at the same time as the conclave and thought I would miss it. But during a match the screens showed white smoke and I went to the St. Peter’s Square to see. What immediately hit me was, and this is not to compare the two events at all, but from a photographers point of view they were almost similar. The energy, the people being fans, together, euphoric. These two world intercepting, at least for me. I realized while shooting that in a way it felt like the same story.

These pictures are photos combined of people watching tennis at Foro Italia and people reacting to the election of the new Pope. taken in Rome, Italy by @nahmnahm

Found an old video tape of my father and me playing tennis on the grass court, not long after it was build. Also some clips of my father practicing his serve. A life long struggle to master it, one of the reason why I love this game so much, the struggle of the serve. But there’s many reasons; generations playing, family, the feeling of summer and sunshine when we play, the sound of the trees, the smell of grass, searching for lost tennis balls in the forest. Filmed around 1991 and then a last one of my kids doing the same as I did when I was a kid 💛 by @nahmnahm
