CRPS – Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

I know what it's like to live with pain that others cannot see, to have struggles that aren't always visible on the outside, and to have days when your body makes even the simplest things difficult.

That's why raising awareness for CRPS means something special to me. Although our conditions are different, I understand how important it is to be seen, believed and understood.

CRPS is a complex and often devastating chronic pain condition that can affect every aspect of a person's life. The pain may be invisible, but the suffering is very real.

Let's spread awareness, encourage compassion and remind everyone living with invisible illnesses that they are not alone.

💜 Invisible doesn't mean painless. Believe the pain. See the person. 💜

The Misunderstood History of Black Cats 🖤🐈‍⬛
Black cats have been misunderstood for centuries, and sadly, old superstitions still affect them today.
The negative reputation of black cats began to spread in medieval Europe, particularly during the 13th century. In 1233, Pope Gregory IX issued a church document called Vox in Rama, which associated black cats with the Devil. As fear of witchcraft grew during the following centuries, black cats became linked to witches and evil magic. People began to believe that they brought bad luck, and these innocent animals became victims of fear, prejudice, and superstition.

Sadly, this misunderstanding still has consequences today.
In some countries, black cats are adopted less quickly than cats of other colours. Their dark fur can make them less noticeable in shelter photographs, and old superstitions and their association with Halloween can make it harder for them to find loving homes. Some shelters also take extra precautions around Halloween because of concerns about animal safety.

In places such as the United States and the United Kingdom, black cats are still affected by these outdated beliefs. However, many animal shelters and rescue organisations work hard to challenge the myths and encourage people to adopt them. In other cultures, black cats are actually considered symbols of good luck, protection, and prosperity.

Black cats deserve the same love, safety, and chance at a happy life as every other cat. They are not omens of bad luck. They are beautiful, loving individuals who just happen to wear black.

Let's replace fear with kindness, myths with facts, and prejudice with love. Every black cat deserves a forever home. 🖤🐾
