A year ago, a dream became reality. And today, one year later, it still feels strange to think that I wasn’t even invited to pass that dream on to another girl.

Despite everything, I want to say thank you to @missuniverse.switzerland for giving me the opportunity to live an experience that changed me deeply. An experience that made me believe in many possibilities and in a future that, in the end, did not unfold the way I had imagined.

But perhaps this is what time has taught me: to distinguish between promises and the people who are truly there.

Today, I know that the people who have made the real difference in my life are those who have shown me their support through their actions. The ones who helped me grow, believed in me, and prepared me, day after day, for the big door that is now opening in front of me.

And that door opens today, not tomorrow.
